Is there a right way to pray? Does God only listen to those who are on bended knees with hands folded, heads bowed, and in reverently silent communication with Him? From many years of experiencing answered prayer, author and pastor D. Qwynn Gross offers insights to the most effective way to pray. Based on the prayer that Jesus taught His followers, the teaching in this book reveals personal and practical patterns needed to pray with insight, intention, and expectation as you present yourself before almighty God. This the way you should pray:Father in heaven, may Your name always be kept holy.May Your kingdom come....However, if you do not forgive people, then your Father will not forgive the wrong things which you have done (Matthew 6:9-14 PEB). Reciting the Lord s Prayer doesn t yield the meaning needed for application in real-life problems, nor does it offer real communion with God. Narration of the prayer only proves memory is strong understanding the prayer enables results. Through God s Word and personal testimony, you will discover how praying is an experience you ll not just cultivate, but you ll appreciate and truly enjoy. This book will change your prayer life and transform your future.

DEDICATION

Father,

I dedicate this book to You.

Thank You for the opportunity to serve in this manner. It is my

privilege to offer what You have given. May You be glorified

in the lives of every reader, and may You show Yourself faithful in

the lives of every doer. I ask You to confirm my word as Your servant

and perform my counsel as Your messenger (see Isa. 44:26).

May every word tug at the heart of Your children. I appreciate

Your loving-kindness toward me as You have given me the

opportunity to do something I only dreamed about.

I praise You, for You have blessed me indeed.

Thank You, Lord.

I am often asked to write forewords for members, partners, associates, and friends; however, due to time constraints and the sheer volume of requests, I regretfully decline most. My heart and passion for prayer caused me to reconsider Pastor Qwynn Gross request to read and write the foreword for Teach Me to Pray.

It is with godly pride that I write the foreword for one whom I consider a true spiritual daughter in the faith, Pastor Qwynn Gross.

It is by faith that we receive the promises of God, but we must open our mouths to speak the will of God into our lives. Today, there are millions of people living outside of the will of God for their lives because they have no revelation on prayer. This book will impact, inspire, and equip you with wisdom on prayer that will lead you to Gods purpose for your life.

Most people have the desire to pray yet do not follow through for many reasons. Some do not understand the power of prayer. Others do not have revelation on how to pray. And still, others may say, I just dont have the time to pray.

Pastor Gross book will remove every excuse, hindrance, or obstacle you have to obtaining a powerful prayer life. Her book provides an anointed and purposeful pattern for prayer that will awaken your spirit and desire for intimacy with God through prayer.

It is through her submission that she is able to share her testimony of an effective prayer life and teach it to us with such simplicity. Pastor Gross well-written blueprint for a better prayer life will keep you immersed until the very end. After completing the book, you will be eager and excited to apply the principles to your own prayer life.

You will also learn how she continued to pray and stand in faith until arriving at a place of victory. When you look at her today, you see the glory of God showcased to an unbelieving world. This is due to her unwavering and unconditional commitment to prayer.

I have had the pleasure to watch Pastor Grosss life, and as I read this book it brought to my remembrance the zeal in my heart when I learned the power of prayer. Once you have the revelation, it is always your desire to get the message to others who may still struggle in an area that you have overcome. This testimonial book on prayer may be the missing and very essential element necessary for you to know that you can ask, believe, confess, and receive.

You are about to be blessed as you begin reading her commitment to pray. I pray that the Spirit of God will cause her message to encourage you, and that this book gets into the right hands at the right time to transform a generation into a praying generation. Get ready to be completely engrossed as you begin your journey to a wonderful and purposeful life through consistent prayer.

I suppose having a father in my home made it easier for me to appreciate the - photo 1

I suppose having a father in my home made it easier for me to appreciate the relationship God desired to have with me as my heavenly Father. I grew up in a home with both parents. Though my father was typically gone due to work, time at the pool hall, or time in front of the television, I knew he loved me. As I look back on his ways, I see a family that existed by grace. The family dynamic wasnt perfect; it was simple. My dad said very few words, and usually when he spoke it was with passive authority. A simple suggestion was enough to carry out the directive.

Though I wasnt threatened by my father with spankings, I can honestly remember one threat; and that was to learn to spell my name. After a couple of hours of his drilling, D-i-o-n-n-e M-i-d-g-e-t-t-e, he finally left the room with one statement: You better know how to spell that name when I get back. Needless to say, I learned to spell and write that name. I never forgot.

Though my dad was quiet, I always respected his voice and loved being around him. If he let me go with him anywhere, the ride was always quiet but nice. When he spoke, it was enough to move closer to hear. When he laughed, I was amazed. When he affirmed, it warmed my heart for a lifetime. To me there was an unspoken love I could count on. My response would be to honor my dad as much as I could even as a grown woman.

My mother was always vocal, truthful, and consistent. To me she could always take care of herself. She always had something to say, though she considered herself quiet. Her influence on my life was as profound as my fathers. She threatened and swiftly carried out the threat. She was always quick to point out cause and effect. Her message was stern though she regularly embraced and showed affection.
