A Light to Guide You
Q: Which book of the Bible says Gods Word is a light for your path?
- a. Hebrews
- b. Psalms
- c. Proverbs
Imagine this. You and a friend are on a camping trip with your parents. The two of you get permission to walk along a nearby nature trail. You pack snacks and bottles of water in your backpacks, and you start off.
You are having fun and forget to pay attention to the time. The sun is setting quickly, and you realize youd better head back to the campsite. You know you just have to cut through the woods to get back.
Which way? you ask your friend.
I dont know. What do you think? Your friend looks around.
Im not sure. Everything looks different in the dark.
Wait a minute. I think I have a flashlight in my backpack. Your friend digs around for a few seconds and pulls out a flashlight. The flashlight gets clicked on, and a bright beam of light cuts through the darkness.
Point it over there, you say. I think thats the way back.
Your friend shines the light where you point. Sure enough, your campsite is straight ahead. The flashlight has saved the day.
God says his Word will be a light for your path, just like the flashlight lights the path in the story above. The Bible tells you how to live, and it helps you make decisions. Its important to become familiar with the Bible so you can use it as your guide for life. Read from the Bible each day, and ask yourself how the Scripture applies to you.
For You
When it comes to lifes questions, you dont need to feel around in the dark, trying to find your way. You already have a light the Bible. Gods Word can guide you in making the right decisions and knowing what to do when you arent sure of the way. Take time to read a few verses of Scripture every day.
Answer: b
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

Make No Mistake
Q: Which word means without error?
- a. infallible
- b. inspired
- c. inflatable
Have you ever been at a family gathering where your parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles were telling stories about their past, but no one could agree on the details? Your dad starts telling about the time he borrowed the car to take your mom on their first date. But your grandfather corrects him about what kind of car it was. Then your mother tells your dad they didnt go to the restaurant he named for their date. It takes quite a while to get the details worked out, and its possible not everyone agrees on the story.
The Bible contains many stories, but all of their details agree because God is the author of the Bible. He used around 40 different men to do the actual writing from their own personalities and experiences. But the message is always the same: humans have a problem sin. God has the answer salvation. Thats amazing when you consider the Bible was written over a time period of around 1,500 years. And the men who wrote it were from three different continents and had various jobs shepherd, tax collector, doctor, fisherman, and more.
The Bible doesnt contain mistakes, because God is the true author of the Bible. Although he used humans to record his words, the message is his.
For You
There may be times when youre reading the Bible and it doesnt seem to match up. When that happens, ask a parent or a leader at church to help you find out why. Sometimes we may not understand the Bible, but Gods message is always right.
Answer: a
Although the word infallible isnt used in the Bible, the Bible tells us that its the Word of God and that God never makes mistakes.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16
