When you trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you became a member of Gods family. You are His child now, through faith in Jesus (Galatians 3:26), and you are His special concern. You are also an inheritor of many wonderful promises. This booklet draws together great truths from the Old and the New Testament truths that help you understand better Gods commitment to you as His child.
There are three sections in this booklet, and in each section the verses are in random order, to avoid suggesting that a pattern of thought or teaching is being presented. The basic concept of this booklet is that Scripture provides a variety of insights for our particular needs, and that these insights should be allowed to stand on their own.
The first section in this booklet, Your Very Personal Relationship With God, is filled with wonderful truths, truths containing promises that are now yours in Christ. When you feel uncertain, turn to this section and be refreshed by Gods great love.
Gods Promises When You Are in Need contains truths that speak to special needs. Perhaps you feel lonely, or discouraged. Perhaps youre sick, or nervous. Whatever your need, check the table of contents to find the page that shows you that God does care, and that He will care for you.
Your Prayers Gods Answers is filled with prayers uttered by Old and New Testament people and Gods answers to their prayers. Prayer is one of your privileges as a member of Gods family. You can share everything with God and be confident that He hears. This section will help you to express your feelings to God, and it will give you the assurance that God will answer you.
YOUR VERY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
When you committed yourself to Jesus, God made a deep commitment to you. You are his now, and he wants to make the unchanging nature of his commitment to you clear. He wants you to be confident, so that we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged (Hebrews 6:18).
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So dont be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign L ORD.
But now, this is what the L ORD says he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.
I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown.
Know that the L ORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the L ORD hears when I call to him.
The L ORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
The L ORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.
He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.
I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
On the day when I act, says the L ORD Almighty, they will be my treasured possession.
To all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for Gods wrath remains on them.
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
