Lies are toxic thoughts, and toxic thoughts are real, physical things that parasitically invade our minds, destroying everything in their pathspirit, soul, and bodyif they are not stopped. In Perfect Lies, Jennifer reveals how she was able to identify the negative toxic thoughts and memories that were making her physically and mentally sick and replace them with the healing truth of Scripture. Through a decision of her mind, a choice, Jennifer started eliminating toxic, distorted thoughts and rewiring in healthy, life-giving thoughts. She implanted the Word, which saved her soul (James 1:21). She highlights the truth that the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16).

This book is dedicated to the One who has always given me unconditional acceptance, Maker of heaven and earth, who loves me just as I am.
Introduction
Perhaps this book isnt for you.
Maybe you rarely struggle with feelings of inadequacy, of not measuring up. You may be able to make sense of your life and easily cope with the normal stresses of daily living. You may be able to shake off adversity and find a way to be happy no matter what comes your way. If so, Perfect Lies may not have much to offer you.
On the other hand, perhaps you often struggle with feelings of discontentment and discouragement. You may be convinced that if only something good would happen to youthe next great relationship, the promotion at work, the birth of a childthen you would be happy. You feel a gnawing hunger in your soul that does not let you enjoy the moments of life as they happen. No matter how perfect your life may seem on the outside, on the inside there is something terribly wrongand you wonder if you will ever be truly happy.
What accounts for the difference between those who delight in and those who despair over their lives? I would argue it is not our circumstances. The truth of the matter is, the world in which we livethe world we can see, hear, touch, taste, and feelis not the only world we experience. Our reality is actually created and orchestrated by our thoughts. Most of us are not even aware of this strange inner world, but the reality we create in our own hearts and minds is fundamentally as real as the air we breathe and the gravity that holds us to this earth. It is a reality that will enslave usor be the key that will set us free to be the men or women God created us to be.
