I must be one of the luckiest people on Earth because Ive actually had not two but three great days in my life: the day I was born, the day I discovered why, and the day in 1974 that I met my wife, Amy Zerner, cocreator of this book and of our wonderful life together. Back then, Amy was studying astrology and I was studying Amy, so I learned astrology, tarot, and many more secret ancient practices.

The first of the many secrets we will be sharing with you in this book is that in relationships, either you grow together or you grow apart. Amy and I have grown together, and those secret ancient practices have proven themselves useful. So useful, in fact, that the information you will soon be enjoying in The Karmic Birthday Book represents the culmination of our decades of study and practice of all of them. They have profoundly changed and enriched our lives, and we have mastered them to the point where we can now share their powerful wisdom and guidance with you by using the best they have to offer as we focused on each of the three hundred and sixty-six days of the year, one karmic birthday at a time.

The day I discovered why I was born was the day in 1988 that my first book, Karma Cards: Amazing Fun-to-Use Astrology Cards to Read Your Future, was published internationally. It has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and is still going strong, published in eighteen languages.

Back then, relatively few people knew what the word karma meant! I had to convince its publisher that Karma Cards was a title that was going to sell a lot of copies, even though so few American book buyers knew what karma was and those who did thought it was the Hindu equivalent of Christianitys Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, or What goes around comes around.

Today, most people know those two meanings, and a surprisingly large number know that Karma is the ancient Sanskrit word for the consequences that result from the actions a person takes in this lifeand that those actions may even influence the circumstances of a future life. As someone whose decades of expanding my mind through the invention and use of intuition-building oracle systems has enabled me to become so psychically attuned that I am able to hear the voices of those whove passed over, I know that the law of karma, that what you do comes back to you, always holds true.

Secret number two I would like to share with you is that the reason we have called the book you are reading The Karmic Birthday Book is the same reason I called my first book Karma CardsEdgar Cayces definition of karma.

Edgar Cayce, who was the most famous and influential psychic channeler of the twentieth century, defined karma as meeting yourself. I believe he meant that quite literally, that when we encounter positive and negative consequences of our past actions, we are meeting our Higher Self, the part of us that knows what we need to learn for our highest good and greatest joy. Sometimes what we need to learn is painful. But forewarned is forearmed, and that is where The Karmic Birthday Book comes in.

The Karmic Birthday Book is the culmination of our entire lifes work as respected metaphysical authors and teachers of more than a dozen subjects using the medium of oracle systems that develop the readers intuition and decision-making skills.
