Wicca: Wicca for Beginners: A Guide for Those Who Want to Practice the Religion

All that You Need to Know about Wicca For Beginners!

A Beginners Guide to Practicing Wicca
Wicca is a religious belief system and way of life that is based on the reconstruction of pre-Christian traditions in Wales, Ireland, and Scotland. In contrast to what a lot of people believe, Wiccans are not worshippers of Satan. In fact, they do not even believe in the existence of devils and hell. Wicca is a religion that acknowledges the existence of The One, along with other gods and goddesses.
Wiccans celebrate the changing of the seasons, the cycles of nature, and the phases of the moon to worship the divine and honor their spirituality. They are in tune with the elements of air, water, fire, earth, and spirit. They believe that everything in nature, including plants and animals, is sacred. They work with the deities, not to cause harm to other people, but instead to live in peace and harmony.
Wiccans have this rule that they should not harm anybody, so the spells they cast are mostly for healing and protection purposes. They also believe that whatever they do to others, whether good or bad, will come back to them three times. They use ingredients, such as herbs and essential oils, for their spells.

Thanks again for downloading this book. I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1: What is Wicca?

If you have heard of Wicca, then you are probably wondering what it is all about. Well, Wicca is actually an eclectic religious belief system that is centered on the worship of nature, gods, and goddesses. It involves the use of rituals in the hopes of manipulating nature and gaining, power, love, and prestige among other things. It also involves the use of symbols and other things that may be used in ceremonies.

Wicca stemmed from ancient agrarian Celtic Society, and is regarded as Neo-Pagan. It is not associated to any clergy or congregations. However, it does have priestesses and priests that serve as leaders of covens. To attain the ranking of a priestess or priest, one must have completed certain requirements. There are different groups of wiccans, and each one has its own set of requirements to become a priestess or priest.

Wiccans do not claim that their religion is the right path. Instead, they say that every spiritual path and tradition is valid to the people who practice it. In Wicca, the life of every being, including humans, plants, and animals, is sacred. Wiccans also do not believe that a devil exists. They are not worshippers of Satan, in contrary to what a lot of people believe. They do not do orgies or public practices of sexuality either.

There are also no bestiality and blood sacrifices involved in this religion. Even though Wiccans cast spells, they do not harm people. They have a creed, the Wiccan Rede, in which they are not allowed to harm anyone. Wiccans are generally peaceful people who believe that nature is sacred and that there are moral absolutes. They also do their best to be in harmony with nature.

The Wiccan Rede, The Threefold Law, and The Gods and Goddesses

Wicca is actually recognized by the government. It is, in fact, a bona fide religion that is recognized in courts. There are legal clergy in every state. There are also chaplains. If you are planning to practice Wicca, you should be aware of the Threefold Law and the Wiccan Rede. These codes are the basic guiding principles of every Wiccan.

The Wiccan Rede allows Wiccan to practice magick as long as they do not hurt anybody. The Threefold Law, on the other hand, states that the good things you do will be returned to you three times. Similarly, the bad things that you do will be returned to you three times.

Just like most religions, Wiccans also believe that there is an ultimate force of life. They call it The All or The One. They also believe that other gods and goddesses exist to help and guide them. During rituals, they may reference gods and goddesses from various theological systems, including Egyptian, Hinduism, Sumerian, and Greek among many others.

Wiccans may have different beliefs when it comes to God. Some of them consider God to be self-aware while others do not. Wicca is practically a self-design religion, so you can go for whatever works best for you. After all, God has different characteristics in Wiccan theology.

The Attractiveness of Wicca

While many people still remain skeptic, a lot of people are interested in the religion. Wicca is quite controversial due to the fact that it involves the use of magick. You should take note that magick is not the same as magic. The previous is the utilization and harnessing of subtle energies to produce a positive result, while the latter is merely tricks and techniques used by magicians who perform on stage.

Anyway, those who do not want to believe in absolute truths are inclined to be attracted to Wicca. Wiccans are free to discover their own paths. They can follow or even invent religious systems that work best for them. They are not limited to a single system that forces them to believe in certain things. So if you convert to Wicca, you should not hesitate to address the Lord and Lady in the manner that feels most comfortable for you.

Many people also like the idea that they can try to manipulate nature to grant their desires. In Wicca, incantations and spells are commonly used to request assistance from the gods and goddesses. So basically, a lot of people are attracted to Wicca because it allows them to devise, develop, and invent a religion that fits their preferences as well as influence other factors to achieve their desired goals.

Chapter 2: Different Wiccan Groups

As mentioned earlier, there are different groups of Wiccans and each group has certain traditions. So before you convert to this religion, you should know which group you want to be part of.

Alexandrian Wicca

This group was formed by husband and wife, Alex and Maxine Sanders. It gives emphasis on the male and female polarity. It involves ceremonies and rites that are dedicated to the God and the Goddess. Alexandrian covens typically meet during full moons, new moons, and Wiccan Sabbats. Those who want to be initiated in this coven will start as a neophyte and eventually move on to First Degree.

Blue Star Witchcraft

Those who belong in this group refer to themselves as Witches instead of Wiccans. They actually do not recognize the term Wicca. They accept members through initiations, and some of the things they use are oath bound. If you want to be initiated in this group, you have to pass five levels. Other groups usually have three levels.

British Traditional Wicca

If you wish to be part of this group, you have to undergo a formal initiation preceded by a linegaed member. You have to make sure that you maintain a training level with their standards. The keys to being part of this group are their teachings, practice, and lineage. British Traditional Wicca covens can be found in different countries.

Circle Sanctuary

This non-profit religious organization was founded by Selena Fox in 1974. It promotes awareness of Pagan religions, such as Wicca, through networking. The members regularly sponsor events, including the Pagan Spirit Gathering which is held every year around Summer Solstice.
