I dedicate this book to two very dear friends. It's not every day that friends become family, and Tom and Cathy have substantially influenced the following words. Its not just the delicious coconut cakes Cathy whips up, nor is it solely Toms enjoyable stories and positive attitude that prompt this dedication. Its so much more.

Id like to start out this book by giving away the ending of another book. Tim Tebow (yes, the football player) recently wrote a childrens book called Bronco and Friends: A Party to Remember.

In the story, a dog named Bronco is invited by his friends to a grand party. But you cant get in for free! To attend, you must bring a unique puzzle piece. Bronco helps his friends find their pieces along the way to the party. Once they arrive, Bronco turns to leave because he never found his own piece. However, the host appears and reveals that he has Broncos piece. The host helps Bronco see that his purpose was to help everyone else find their puzzle piece and their way.

Why did I tell you this story? As youll find out later in this book, its not because Jordan is a huge fan of dogs (or cats). Its because Jordan has discovered (like Bronco) that his purpose in life is to help others discover what makes them unique and motivate them to relentlessly pursue their Destiny. How do I know this? Because he has done it for me.

Jordan is great at motivating others. What sets Jordan and this book apart is his expertise in helping others get organized and stay focused on achieving their dreams. I can tell when I havent spent time with Jordan in a while. Its not that I stop dreaming. Its worse than that. I stop making progress toward the dream inside of me. As an ENFP on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, (which youll learn more about in this book) I love chasing anything new. I also dont have one Executing theme in my Top 5 of CliftonStrengths. I need people like Jordan and books like this one to help me execute on my dreams.

As I have come to know Jordan over the years, he has blown me away by his strengths and wisdom. After reading this book, I realized Jordan did not just stumble upon his wisdom and passion to help others pursue their Destiny. He and his wife, Miranda, spent several years working in a variety of roles at retirement communities. As you probably know, spending time with the elderly can help you gain wisdom. They have had time to reflect on their lives, the good parts and the bad.

Based on what I have learned from Jordans experience, there are too many people that look back on their lives with regret. I imagine you can only listen to so many of those stories before you know you dont want to make the same mistakes with your own life. I think those conversations served as motivational rocket fuel for Jordan and his purpose. Not only does Jordan not want to become someone that arrives at the end of his life to realize he didnt fulfill his Destiny, he doesnt want it for me or for you either.

There may be times youre reading this and think, man, this guy needs to lighten up a bit! To that I say Jordan, keep pushing us. Dont let us get to the end of our lives and wish we would have pursued the dreams that were planted within us from the beginning of our lives.

You know yourself better than anyone else. The problem is, you probably listen to what others say about you more than you listen to yourself. As we age, we let the dreams we are born with die a slow death. We listen to others, we emulate others, and we doubt ourselves. Somehow we have to realize we will only succeed when we become who we were meant to be, not who someone else wishes we would be.

This book will serve as a catalyst for you if you put in the work of doing the things Jordan recommends. He walks you through a variety of tools to help you get to know yourself better and focus on what you have been uniquely gifted to accomplish. Im guessing most authors wouldnt suggest you set their book aside and go take a test, but Jordan knows this book will not have the impact he intends it to if you dont spend some time outside of the book doing the hard work of self-discovery. If you follow Jordans advice, youll be one day closer to achieving the dream that lies inside of you.

Jordan wraps up this book by helping you visualize and assemble your Life Purpose Puzzle. Just as Bronco helped his friends find and complete their puzzle, Jordan wants to help you identify the pieces of your Life Purpose Puzzle so you can successfully live out your Destiny. I truly believe that this book and the tools that Jordan recommends will help you assemble a life well lived.

Heres to the grand party we will have when we get to the end of our lives and can step back and see the one-of-a-kind masterpieces that our lives of purpose have assembled. Thank you for helping us get to the party, Jordan!

All you need is a desire for change, an appetite to take action on what you learn, and the willingness to learn from (and hopefully avoid) my many mistakes.
