Title page of the Wertheim Bible from the personal copy of Franz Ulrich Ries, a colleague of Christian Wolff's in the philosophy faculty at the University of Marburg. Ries bought the book in 1736, as the note on the right indicates. Similar notes of successive authors, all of whom owned it illegally, appear at the bottom.
