Recognizing the real face of the occult Its tentacles have infiltrated the very fiber of our day-to-day existence. Its symbols adorn our buildings, our currency, and the clothes and jewelry we wear. Its followers are legion, some of them blind to their own devotion while others pour out effort and intellect searching for an understanding of the divine. It is the occult, and it dominates the worlds mind-set. Jeff Harshbarger and his friends know about occult practices. After two unsuccessful suicide attempts and an offer to become a human sacrifice, Jeff left his life of Satanism to pursue a life with God. Dancing With the Devil tells his story along with the stories of nine others who have walked similar paths, including: Satanism Witchcraft Demon possession Spiritualism Psychic vampirism Each authors account reveals the spiritual truths that enabled him or her to break free. Their stories weave a tapestry that shows the true face of the occult and the path we can take to break Satans hold on those caught in its crosshairs.

I had the privilege of having Jeff Harshbarger as a Bible college student shortly after his deliverance from the occult. It was a thrill to watch him mature in his Christian life and then grow to the point of being able to minister to others caught in the grips of the occult. In Dancing With the Devil , Jeff joins with several other former occultists to bring us their spellbinding stories of their deliverance from being spellbound. This volume is far more than just intriguing true-life stories; it is a manual on how to break free from demonic chains and how to help others find true freedom through Christ. Dancing With the Devil is a must-read for anyone trapped on the dark side and for everyone desiring to rescue others from the shadows.

The occult in all its various disguises is causing havoc around the world. Good, clear information both to explain to those caught up what is going on and to help them overcome the various issues in their life has never been more needed than it is today. It is so easy to give advice to those needing help without really understanding what they are going through. Enter Jeff Harshbarger. He is not just a talker; he has been there and knows what others are going through. This book should be a message of hope to the thousands who are looking for a way out, because it will show them they are not alone. There are compassionate people waiting to listen to their story and give practical help.

One of the most difficult aspects of being a missionary to cults and false religious movements is the resentment they have for Christians who communicate false information about their beliefs. This is most true in the area of Satanism and the occult. I have appreciated Jeffs ministry, and Dancing With the Devil is a helpful tool in educating Christians about the beliefs of those with these worldviews.

Jeff Harshbargers Dancing With the Devil is a helpful and needful book because it is a unique approach to understanding occultism from a Christian point of view. Most evangelicals think of the occult as a vaguely defined but threatening realm of spiritual darkness and danger. Harshbarger has collected personal tales of occult involvement that bring clarity and detail to that murky image and refine our abstract impressions of occultism into concrete dis-cernments of its real dangers and the real means of escaping from them. If you are dealing with occult-related issueseither in your own life or the lives of othersthis book needs to be in your library.

T HIS BOOK COULD not have been written without the tireless efforts of my wonderful wife, Liz.

Thanks to Max the dog for teaching me true friendship. Special thanks to Rebeca Seitz and Jessica Dotta at Reclaim Management for making this book, which Ive wanted to write since 2007, a reality.

Thank you to all the contributing authors for sharing from your heart.

Thanks to all the folks at Charisma House for believing in this project.

And as always, thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for being faithful.

T HE OCCULT HAS permeated society throughout the world. Some of the most popular movies, television shows, and books today portray the occult in a very alluring manner. Practices such as meditation and reiki relaxation therapy, which were once considered flaky and countercultural, are now widely accepted. Ive even known churchgoers who readily admitted to reading their horoscopes each day.
