Day By Day Theres a better life thats waiting if we put our trust in Him Theres a better life ahead of us if were ready to begin If we live our lives in darkness we may never see the light If we live our lives without Him we may never have our sight Hes our eyes into the future what we do is in His hands A path has already been chosen for us its all a part of His plans Sometimes were doubtful Hes out there How can He allow such suffering Thats something we all have to go through to get to the joy that knowing Him brings Just know theres a better life waiting when we put our trust in the father above Theres a better life ahead for everyone Thats all a part of His love We were talking last night about stay at home moms thinking sometimes, what role do we play We know its a job that takes alot of hard work but society thinks that all we do is eat bonbons and watch soap operas all day Its much more than that, because you see our jobs dont just go from nine to five This job sometimes lasts twenty four hours a day and will for the rest of our lives The pays not that great, but there are those times we get bonuses once in awhile Its when your child says I love you mom it gives you a reason to smile You say to yourself its worth it and more because what you do is more precious than gold Its a challenge we go through one day at a time because we never know what each day will unfold So if someone ever comes your way and asks the question, what do you do Proudly say to them Im a stay at home mom were a dying breed, its not an easy job, theres only a chosen few The other day I was gently reminded That theres something more here than just me I felt the softest touch on my shoulder Resting there so lovingly Sometimes it was a gentle hand Letting me know it was there Other times more firm Knowing Im under its care Sometimes guiding me in a different direction Than what I would have taken on my own That without its loving touch Places I would have never known Places like hope and trust Goodness, kindness and love Faith and belief and strength All coming from above Its then that I knew the owner Of this kind and gentle hand The reason for it being there I was beginning to understand Its God my Heavenly Father Reaching out to me To let me know that Hes there Watching me lovingly Like a Father would do for His own child Guiding me each step of the way Letting me be myself But knowing Hes not far away I hope and pray for us all That you are reminded just like me And feel the hand of our Father Resting there so lovingly We hope only the best for our children Take the best care of them that we can Love them, teach them, guide them Sometimes holding their hand We hope that when they get older Theyll remember the things that they learned To pass onto their own future children All they were taught in turn Sometimes a different path is taken Than the one that we hoped for and prayed Still showing them love and kindness No matter the choices made This is my parents prayer That God is there when I cant be Knowing that helps my heart be at peace Sets my worries and concerns free Just giving me time to love them And being there as much as I can Knowing that Gods also there for them Holding them in His hands I write this prayer for all parents Who for their children want only the best Love them, guide them, teach them And let God take care of the rest A smile can be a baby just learning to stand A smile can be looking up seeing a parent holding your hand A smile can be the feel of your feet in the sand Thats what a smile can be A smile can be the smell of the air after a rain shower A smile can be a butterfly settled on a flower A smile can be watching children play hour after hour Thats what a smile can be A smile can be the love you share with that special someone A smile can be that even though youre grown up you can still have fun A smile can be knowing that a job was well done Thats what a smile can be A smile doesnt have to be a difficult thing A smile is a part of everything A smile is what each of us brings Thats what a smile can be Were sisters yet were more than that A special bond well always share A special closeness that no one else has Knowing each other is there We may be two people but one at heart Sharing love and laughter and tears Knowing always what were going through There for all joys and fears Were two of a very special kind Created by God above To know that were both always in His care To know that were always loved Sometime in our lives we may be apart But one thing well always know Theres always a connection No matter how far apart from each other we go So, no matter how many years go by This special bond well always share Something special only between you and me Knowing for each other were always there Lord help me to become Who you want me to be A woman of excellence So that others can see I want to be an example To all other women around A light shining in the darkness That no where else can ever be found I want to be a woman of wisdom To discern whats right and whats wrong That I may use it in all situations Throughout my whole life long I want to be a woman of strength Hold my ground wherever I stand To overcome all troubles and sorrows Knowing Im always in your hands Show me Lord how to be humble To know when you take over for me And not let pride ever be the reason That I dont come to you on bended knee Lord who is this woman of excellence One full of strength, love and humility I pray Lord that with your guidance and grace Thats the woman who you want me to be Can I really live up to all That God really wants me to be Do I see in myself the potential That Gods given so unselfishly Can I really live up to His standards His expectations, His hopes, His dreams Can I honestly wait and be patient To find out what it all really means Can I really strive to accomplish All that Hes planned for me here Despite situations I might go through Can I do it even though its not always clear Can I be a Christlike example Show others that its okay To let go and just let God Lead them on their way I know I can do all these things and more And do them without even thinking things through All that I need and more God provides Because He wants me to be all that I can be too Anyplace, anywhere, anytime Give it all up to the Lord Every place, everywhere, all the time Always be in His word Anyplace, anywhere, anytime Ask and Hell hear your prayers Every place, everywhere, all the time Hell let you know Hes there Anyplace, anywhere, anytime Do as youre doing for Him Every place, everywhere, all the time Hell show you just where to begin Anyplace, anywhere, anytime By thought, by action, by voice Every place, everywhere, all the time Look to God to make the right choice Anyplace, anywhere, anytime Keep your eyes on Heaven above Every place, everywhere, all the time The Lords looking down with love Be thankful for your blessings Count them one by one And always be reminded That its God that they come from So many things make up a blessing It just feels right in your heart Ask God what Hes doing to bless you Thats the best place to start A blessings another person Who tells you how special you are A blessings a safe journey Not sure if youd make it that far A blessing is writing this poem To share with family and friends A blessing is what God gives to all of us Over and over again God wants us to be a blessing To pass on to others around To share what Hes done for you and me Help those who are lost to be found Be thankful for your blessings Count them one by one Thank you Lord for all your blessings And that its you that they come from Dont avoid doing things because it might not be right But because its the right thing to do Dont do it because you should But because the Lords asking it of you Dont avoid taking chances Because youre not sure whats around the bend Do it because the Lords leading you And He will until the very end Dont avoid helping others Because youre not sure if its right or wrong Do it because the Lords helping you too And He will your whole life long Dont avoid doing too great a task Because youre not sure of whats in store Do it because the Lord says give your all Nothing less and nothing more The Lord never expects any more of us Than He doesnt believe that we cant do So dont avoid doing something because it might not be right But do it because its the right thing to do I was wondering what my life was like before I could ever see Before you entered into it and became my eyes for me You help me to see things so differently that were always there before But with you there being my eyes they come to mean so much more Things that you created things made by your own hands So often taken for granted suddenly become something so grand If you can change how I look at one thing what other plans do you have for me In what new ways will you open my eyes and truly help me to see Im anxious to start on this journey to let you be my eyes for me Ill never be the same person I was before I could ever see Stop and consider Gods wonders Take a look at everything you see The beauty, the joy, the splendor Can you ever doubt how they came to be The love and the care that went into All the things that we see every day What thoughts did God have in mind When He created it all that way Take a look at a newborn baby How so tiny, each day, starts to grow Each stage of its life already planned out By God, because He already knows Take a look at the stars in the heavens Each one placed by Gods own hands Or the vastness of sandy beaches Each grain placed there before time began Take a look at the sun and the moon How they rise and set each day The warmth from the sun, the light from the moon Dont you know that God planned it that way So, when you stop and consider Gods wonders And take a look at everything you see The beauty, the joy, the splendor Dont ever doubt how they all came to be Dare to dream Dare to try Dare to not Even question why Dare to let go Dare to believe Dare to imagine All you can achieve Dare to trust Dare to feel Dare to have faith In what the Lord will reveal Dare to follow Dare to be led Dare to reach out For what lies ahead Dare to make The Lords dreams your own Dare to receive The greatest love ever known Dare to dream, to try, to believe Dare to trust, to feel, to be led Dare to not even question why But leave it all to the Lord instead Teach me Father day by day To follow all your plans Lead me in your way Help me understand Teach me Father day by day That I can be like you Give me strength and guidance In all I say and do Teach me Father day by day The gifts you give to me To use them for your glory So that others too can see Teach me Father day by day The love for me youve shown That Ill always be your child Yours and yours alone Teach me Father day by day To love, to give, to care And the constant reassurance That you are always there I will not stop learning In all you want for me Youre my guide, my friend, my teacher Who loves me unconditionally As a society were fascinated with angels Is there an angel out there watching me now Will they protect me when I need them Im curious, I want to know how These are questions we ask each day We look for our angels of light If were lucky well know our angel is near Even luckier if they come into our sight I dont doubt that our angels are out there But it saddens me because people forget Without God there wouldnt be angels They dont have the message yet I thank God that He sends down His angels I dont forget theyre under His command He sends them to us to help us Its all a part of His plan So, if you ever experience an angel Remember who sent them from above Dont ever forget where they came from Its God you know, showing His love When you feel like the worlds falling in on you When things dont go right no matter what you do When you feel sometimes that youll never get through Dont give up When youre sad because you had a bad day When youre mad because things didnt go your way When no one wants to listen to what you have to say Dont give up Why not give up when the worlds falling in on you When things dont go right no matter what you do When you feel like youll never get through Because Gods always there watching over you So dont give up Why not give up when you had a bad day When things didnt really go your way When no one will listen to what you have to say Because Gods always there when you kneel down to pray So dont give up In our lives God plays a very special part He always has from the very start Hes there when we ask Him into our hearts So please dont ever give up Dont worry about tomorrow For tomorrow will take care of its own Give the Lord all your tomorrows And youll find the greatest peace ever known Dont worry about tomorrow Live only for today Take each day and use it Then let it slip away Dont worry about tomorrow Dont fear what might be ahead Dont be anxious of whats around the bend Let God handle it all instead Dont worry about tomorrow Youre not able to change whats in store Gods planned out all your tomorrows Hes got wonderful things and more The Bible says that we dont gain a thing By adding one extra worry to what we already bear So dont worry about tomorrow Let the Lord, because thats why Hes there Each day is a new beginning A chance for a brand new start To put yesterday behind us When we have God in our hearts We have to put the past away And look to each new day ahead Making the choice not to go our own way But to follow the Lord instead We have to keep our eyes looking forward To see what each day holds Anxiously waiting on the Lord To see what exciting things will unfold Make each day a new beginning A chance for a brand new start Putting yesterday behind you Holding God closely in your heart Everything is possible to him who believes So the bible has to say Even something that seems so unlikely God wouldnt want it any other way Thats the promise He makes to us all When we have faith to believe he can When were willing to give all things to Him When were ready to try to understand Dont forget that were dealing with God Who, by Him, all things came to be The word impossible doesnt even come to mind When in God we choose to believe Does it mean hell provide us with riches Of course, but not in any dollar amount When were ready to believe He can accomplish all things Well have more riches than we can count Everything is possible to him who believes So the bible has to say Give God the chance to show you He wouldnt want it any other way Everyday we come face to face with problems How do I fix them, will it be right or wrong We forget theres only one solution Trusting in God to make us strong Its important to remember that without Him Even the smallest worry is magnified a thousand fold But with God things are put into perspective Dont be anxious, He is with us, were told God has a special way of helping When we bring all our problems to Him If we dont then they begin to consume us Not leaving any room for God to fit in Dont be afraid to take your problems to God And put them all into His hands Hes always there waiting with open arms Its all a part of His plan So come face to face with your problems Dont worry if its right or wrong Trust that God will be there to help you Trust that God will make you strong Faith to believe God will help us Focus on what He has to say Follow through with direction He gives us Without Him, theres no other way Continue to ask God for wisdom for patience, understanding and love He will never fall short of His promise He continues to look after us from above Continue to seek the blessings that follow when we serve our Lord Continue to behave in His likeness for that there will be great reward Have faith to believe in the Father Focus on what Hes asking of you And remember that whatever He asks of us We should always follow through God knows that sometimes were busy He knows sometimes we struggle each step of the way Thats why He wants to remind us to try to find a joy everyday It doesnt have to be very difficult Its as easy as watching a mother bird making her nest Just give it a chance then youll realize God will take care of the rest Youll learn that finding a joy everyday is something that can happen so easily The little things that make you smile is as simple as a joy has to be God wants us to take time to listen He wants us to take time and pray When we do these things, He promises just by being closer to Him, Well be able to find a joy everyday Why do people only care about the outside Youre not accepted if youre not a size ten People are cruel if you dont look right Be perfect, we hear again and again Look this way, be that way, were reminded if were to be accepted by the world today But people are hurting themselves to look right If they do, will they be accepted anyway Heres a secret for all the people who dont fit in because theyre not a size ten God loves you anyway Hell let you know that again and again He doesnt care if youre not perfect He doesnt care if youre short or tall He sees the beauty inside you The outside doesnt matter at all Finding the beauty inside us is what God says is important to Him Our outside will never be able to match The beauty that comes from within No matter what we look like we should never try to hide But remember God loves us no matter what and always try to find the beauty inside Its been ten years since you passed away sometimes it feels like just yesterday Its sometimes so hard not having you here but youre in my heart so youre always near I know that they say time heals all sorrows it hasnt happened yet, maybe tomorrow Even though Im grown, I still miss you dad memories keep reminding me of all the fun times that we had You were always there when I needed you taking time for me, thats what youd do One thing Ill remember until time passes away was how proud you were on my wedding day Even though I didnt have a grand wedding affair, it meant so much more having you there That day I realized just how much you cared you reassured me and loved me even though I was scared Dad, I know that youre somewhere watching me now I want to make you proud, I hope I know how I want to say I love you this Fathers day I still cant believe its been ten years since you passed away Sometimes it still feels like just yesterday I came across a beautiful ship one day and was curious to find what was inside, As I got a little closer I found that there was nothing there to hide It was full of love and laughter just to name a few and when I took a second look I found compassion and caring too I knew that this was friendship in every shape and form A solid ship, I thought, that could weather any storm A ship that I knew that Ive seen before, A ship full of wonderful things and so much more As I walked away, I turned around, to see that ship sail away into the night I smiled though, knowing, that it would never truly be out of sight Because, you see, friendship, even though its not part of our lives everyday, is a ship thats always there, it never truly goes away So if you come across a beautiful ship and are curious to find whats inside Never be afraid to look, theres nothing there to hide Its friendship, something we should treasure in our hearts Step aboard, take a look, its a great place to start God Called Out My Name (from the 1999 Womens Whistler Retreat) God called out my name But I didnt know He was talking to me It was a name Id never heard before Spoken so lovingly He called me His precious child He called me His very own He called me His chosen one All names I should have known He called me a mother, a daughter He called me a sister and friend So many names He gives me The list might never end But it was only when I really listened That I knew who He was talking to Is it me God youre really calling Yes my child, its you No matter what names you go by Theres one thing that should always be clear Listen to God when Hes calling you And know that Hes always near God made a promise to me He said follow me your whole life long And my promise is this Through me you will never go wrong God made a promise to me He said always do as I ask And my promise is this Youll never be burdened with too great a task God made a promise to me He said follow all my commands And my promise is this Youll be carried by my mighty hands God made a promise to me He said ask only in my name And my promise is this It shall be given to you the same God makes these promises to everyone When we seek, we search and we find And His promise to us is this Hell always be gentle, loving and kind God uses ordinary people To achieve extraordinary tasks Have faith to believe Hes with us No matter what He asks Jesus had twelve disciples They were all just ordinary men But Jesus knew something more He saw the potential in all of them God knows that potential we have Though we feel sometimes Hes putting us to the test But He always knows our boundaries Then He takes over the rest Were not really only ordinary people Were worth so much more to the Father above Were soldiers in His mighty army With weapons of faith and love Have faith to believe God is with you In doing whatever He asks Because God uses ordinary people like you and me To accomplish extraordinary tasks Gods precious gifts are our children Theyre more precious to Him than gold Respect them, love them, protect them Take care of them, by the bible, were told Teach them, guide them, correct them Remember to do this all under Gods care Show them how important it is To never forget that God is there Be patient and strong during bad times Be praiseful and proud during good Keeping in mind we should always do As our Father in heaven would Let them know that theyre always wanted Let them know that youll always be there Let them know they should also respect you Thats from God, make them fully aware When youre angry or hurt or despairing Asking yourself am I doing this right Remember we have a father we can go to ourselves And He will never let us out of His sight Gods precious gifts are our children Sent down from heaven above In Gods eyes were all His children And for all of us He has an abundance of love Can God give us guidance and direction When we put our lives in His hands Can He lead us on His pathway The answer is yes, He can Can God show the truth in His word When we may not understand Is it something that we can believe in The answer is yes, He can Can He bring us through our darkest hour When it happens not as we plan Giving us cause to be stronger The answer is yes, He can Can He change the hearts of the hardest kind Of every woman, child and man Offering them the forgiveness no one deserves The answer is yes, He can So many questions unanswered We could go back to where it all began But deep down I believe we already know The answers to all these questions and more Is always yes, He can He said to us all walk in my footsteps Do as Id want you to do He said to us all just remember I always know what youre going through He said to us all spread my message To every corner of the earth He said to us all when you seek me Youll come to know of my worth He said to us all youre my children Ill always have your best interest at heart He said to us all Im forever Nothing can ever keep us apart He said to us all just remember one thing Why I died upon the cross I gave my life for yours because I love you And Ill always find you if youre ever lost He said to us all Ill be with you again Ill hold you up if you ever fall He said this not to just one person But He said it to us all Help him find his way Lord Hold him safely in your arms Help him know youre out there Keep him safe and warm Help him to find his way Lord The path that leads to you Help him to see your guidance To always bring him through Help him to find his way Lord Be with him each step of the way Help him to get through the good and bad As he goes along day by day Help him to find his way Lord That the two of us can share Help him to understand you And to know how much you care Help him to find his way Lord To know you and you alone Be in his heart forever As you help him to find his way home Help me to walk beside you and not to walk behind Help me to see you as a Father gentle, loving and kind Help me to walk beside you and not to walk ahead To patiently wait on what you say and not choose my own way instead Help me to walk beside you and not just tag along Help me to be your child ready, willing and strong Help me in all situations to always be aware of my stride And remember youre always with me helping me to walk beside Hes our hope when the problem seems hopeless Hes our help when things get out of hand Hes our light when were walking in darkness Hes our solid rock when we feel as if were on sinking sand Hes our guide when weve gone off the pathway Hes our courage when we dont know how well get through Hes our strength when were at our weakest Hes our source when we dont know what to do Hes the answer to all of our questions Hes our constant companion and friend Hes faithful, caring and loving Hes forever, Hell never end His presence demands a decision Is He first or do we put other things before Him On this theres only one answer This is where my explanation begins God wants us to put Him first Before anything or anyone else But its not as bad as it seems Ill explain by what the bible tells God only wants to protect us Keep us always out of harms way But He cant do that if were not paying attention And listening to what He has to say Hes not expecting us to forsake our loved ones Including our own families and friends He just wants a relationship like everyone else But with Him it will never end Who do you think gave us our feelings He gives us all kinds, like compassion and love Like sorrow, joy and caring The same feelings he experiences from above Thats why His presence demands a decision Can you put Him first Ill leave the answer to you Understand why He asks this one thing Because I know in my own heart I do His Word is the source for answers when the question is too much to bear His Word contains only whats truthful you wont find lies or deceit written there His Word is alive and active something that should be applied everyday His Word guides and directs us when we feel weve lost our way His Word tells a wonderful story not fiction but actual fact His Word is our weapon to use to fight evil, when its on the attack His Words where we go to for comfort when were burdened by sorrow or fear His Words not a book to be forgotten its been around for hundreds of years His Word is the promise for all mankind and if we seek it, the promise is this Our lives will be so much richer when we go to only one word and thats His How do I know God is out there How do I know that He really exists I need to know that Hes somewhere I really must insist God is there in the morning when I open my eyes and see the sunlight shining into my room God is there when I take a walk in the park and see a beautiful flower in bloom God is here with me now as Im writing I can feel that Hes very near Letting me know Hes always with me Letting me know Hes always here How do I know God is out there How do I know that He really exists Hes never further away than my own heart And on that, I must insist I became a special lady the day you entered my life The day you looked into my eyes and asked me to be your wife I became a special lady the day our lives as two became one The day you came to me and proudly said today you gave me a son I became a special lady the day you filled my life with joy The day we became parents not once but twice with another special little boy Im not special because of anything Ive done Im special because of you And all the special days for the rest of our lives Together just us two I believe God created the heavens and earth I believe He created you and me I believe He created the oceans and the stars as far as the eye can see I believe God created the animals From the largest to the very small I believe He created the flowers and trees I believe He created it all I believe God created our smiles to pass onto a special friend I believe He created our dreams so all things possible will never end I believe God created a vision a lifeplan He has for everyone I believe He created our wanting to follow Him and believe in his son I believe God created all goodness that Hes placed in each one of us I believe that He wants only whats best and all He asks for is faith and trust I believe all He wants for His people is to keep searching and finally achieve the blessings and joys that follow when we can all say I believe I can never say thank you enough For all that youve done for me Words can never express my feelings For what you give so abundantly My heart sometimes seems so full Ten times its usual size Filled by your holy spirit So wonderful and so wise So much joy seems to enter my life Every time I ask you into my prayers All my worries and cares taken care of Because I know youre always there I know that I sometimes stumble But youre right there to take my hand I know that sometimes I make mistakes But you let me know you understand Thank you will never be enough For all that youve done for me Just know in my heart how much it means For all youve given so abundantly Today my child was hurting And I felt as if it was happening to me I wished I could take his pain away I felt as helpless as I could be I wonder is that the same kind of pain that God feels When one of His children is suffering Does He wish He could take it all away And let the healing begin The truth is God does feel that pain Each time one of us slips away Each time we try to fix things ourselves Each time we try to do it our own way I dont want God to feel that pain for me I want to do whats right to Him But I know, though I try, it will happen God knows too, it will happen again Father, thank you so much for my feelings inside For my compassion that comes from you I know how much it hurt to see my own child in pain I can only imagine how much it hurts for you too I know I can overcome anything When I ask it of you in prayer The calm reassurance you give me That you are always there You give me the courage to face things That I could never do on my own Through any situation I know that Im never alone You give me strength to fight my battles No matter how big or how small Anything that comes my way You help me through it all You wrap your arms around me To help me through my fears Your hand is always on my shoulder I know youre always near Lord, Id never be who I am today Or do what Im able to do If you werent always beside me To help me work things through I know I can overcome anything My battles, my worries, my cares Because of your calm reassurance Given to me through my prayers I can rise above Anything that I go through I can stand up tall All because of you I can look my enemy Squarely in the eye I can face my battles Because you give me strength to try I can overcome my worries When I believe I can I can conquer all my fears Because youre there to take my hand If someone hurts or angers me All I have to do is ask Youre there to get me through I can handle any task Thank you Lord for showing me With your guidance and your love That no matter what I may go through I can always rise above I dont understand but will obey whatever it is you ask of me Having faith that even in darkness youll give me the vision to see I dont understand but will obey the plans that you have in mind Believing that youll help me through any difficulties I might find I dont understand but will obey the reasons you do what you do Not giving a second thought but completely trusting in you I dont understand but will obey why you sometimes dont answer prayers Following along one day at a time knowing that youre always there Whatever it is you ask of me theres only one thing to say That even though sometimes I dont understand why I always will obey I give God all the glory for who I am and am ever to be I give Him thanks for the planning and thought He took in creating me Who I am, what I do, is all Gods work I try to let His light shine through I try to follow the path Hes set out for me Because I know thats what Hed want me to do I used to think that giving my life to God would mean that I couldnt be me But its not that way, He makes us so much more than, on our own, we could ever be Thats why I give God all the glory for everything I do and all that I am I want to lead the life He planned out for me before it all began I know that Im going to others When I should be going to you I know that theyre there to help me But its you that will bring me through I know that Im looking elsewhere When youre right where I can see And all I need is to look up to you And youll reveal yourself to me I know that I try to fix things By doing it on my own When all that I need to do is ask And youll never leave me alone I know that my worries will pass When I put it all in your care But until I completely give it away I know that theyll still be there I Youll always put my soul at ease With your healing hand upon my chest I want to abide in Jesus The way He wants to abide in me Filling my heart with His spirit And giving so selflessly I want Jesus to feel at home in my heart A place of comfort and rest Living each day the best that I can Willing to do my best I want Jesus to live in me So that His spirit shines through So I can reach out to others The way that He wants me to If abiding in Christ means to give up my life And leave it in His trusting hands I pray that each day Im reminded of that And pray that Ill understand Lord thank you for showing me over again All that you want me to see And how truly enriched my life is Because I abide in Jesus and He in me I was reminded the other day How important it is to be me That as a servant for Jesus Christ I must act accordingly Jesus put me in His command To follow all of His ways Not just to do it whenever I want But every minute, every hour, every day I need to remember that others around Are aware of all I say and do What kind of person would I be If I gave them the wrong point of view God wants me to a beacon In a world full of darkness and fear So that people will want to know Him And know Hes always near Im honored to represent Him And want more than ever to do my part But it must be disappointing If I dont do things from my heart He loves me and gives me the courage For anything I might face And no matter, in spite of it all Hell keep me in His grace Im glad that someone told me That I must act accordingly Because all that God ever wants Is to reveal the real me in your footsteps Youll guide me each step of the way If I see through your eyes the hope Youll give me strength to face each new day If I carry the cross that you carried Youll take all my burdens into your hands If I follow the words that you left me Youll help me to understand If I hold onto your promises Youll be with me my whole life long And your right hand will always hold me fast If I rise on the wings of dawn Compared to the promise of what lies ahead our lives pass in the blink of an eye So its important to take each day as it comes though we know thats so hard to try Its so hard to just look at one day its even harder not to plan ahead years But all that does is add more confusion and sometimes adds more fears Its so sad what the world is coming to when will whats happening to it end Thats why we should just face each day and not be so concerned with whats around the bend God wants us to try to be patient He knows before us what will happen each day Just let it unfold as it will and God promises things will be okay Dont spend all your waking moments constantly asking yourself the question why Give God a chance to show you how to take each day as it comes Because when were with Him in heaven our lives here will seem to have gone in the blink of an eye In the eyes of a youth Gods a vision Something so far away out of reach Let them know that Hes all around us Even there when we walk on the beach In the eyes of a youth Gods a stranger He wont help them to get through the day Let them know to be still just for a moment Take time to listen to what He has to say In the eyes of a youth Gods a dream Hes not part of reality Let them know we dont need proof to believe He exists We just have faith Hes there constantly In the eyes of a youth Gods not a Father What about all the fathers here on earth Let them know they have a father up above too One full of wonder and worth Let God be all things to all people But most of all let Him be about truth Dont ever let doubt be the reason that Hes not seen in the eyes of a youth In the midst of all our troubles Amongst all the darkness there comes a light A guide through all of the madness A beacon shining so bright In the midst of all our worries Theres a path to get us on our way A step in the right direction A signal that things will be okay In the midst of all our sadness Theres a shoulder for us to cry on A mighty and powerful counselor Who we can at all times rely on In the midst of what the world has to offer Theres a gift laid at our feet A chance to thank in person Our Savior, who one day, we all hope to meet In the midst of all your troubles Amongst all the pain and the hurt you go through Give God the chance to fulfill His promise That Hell always be there to watch over you It all began with a child An infant in a stable born Lying in a lowly manger On that very first Christmas morn It all began with a child That mighty kings would bow down at His sight That a single star to mark His birthplace Would be a beacon in the night It all began with a child The Messiah who came to save the earth Who for us, His fate was sealed From the moment of His birth It all began with a child That very first Christmas morn A gift from our Heavenly Father The day that Jesus Christ was born Jesus power to calm the sea Is something we should think about every day To remember when we take our problems to Him He will take them all away His disciples questioned His power They werent sure if He could do what He said Sometimes thats how we handle things Taking them on ourselves instead I know that it seems sometimes That Jesus is so far away But Hes inside our hearts Thats where Hell always stay We have to put that trust in Him That He can take care of it all His power can take on anything No matter how big or small His disciples were helpless on the sea Amongst the storm and rain But when Jesus stood up and made it calm He took away all that pain Again thats what He can do for us now He can do it for you and for me When we truly believe in our hearts The power Jesus has to calm the sea Lend an ear when your child is reaching out to you Lend an ear when your child wants to share their point of view Lend an ear when your child asks can I read a book to you Never be too busy to lend an ear Lend an ear when your child says I love you mom and dad Lend an ear when your child tells you why theyre feeling sad Lend an ear when your child did something wrong and feels bad Never be too busy to lend an ear Lend an ear when your child wants to share their day Lend an ear when your my speech, my responses Let my reflection be you When Im with my children Whos behind my stare Letting me know Hes always there In my parenting ways, good and bad Let my reflection be you When Im face to face with my enemy Whos behind my stand All of a sudden holding my hand In my prayers and concerns for forgiveness Let my reflection be you When I look in a mirror who do I see whos reflection is
