As a professional project planner and scheduler, I have used a number of planning and scheduling software packages for the management of a range of project types and sizes.

The first books I published were user guides/training manuals for Primavera SureTrak and P3 users. These were well received by professional project managers and schedulers, so I decided to turn my attention to Microsoft Project 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and now Microsoft Office Project 365. This book follows the same proven layout of my previous books. I trust this book will assist you in understanding how to use Microsoft Project on your projects. 1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of this book is to provide you with a method for planning and controlling projects using Microsoft Project 365. Microsoft Project 365 is a subscription version of Microsoft Project 2019. This book covers earlier versions and highlights the important differences between Microsoft Office Project 2013, Microsoft Project 2016, Microsoft Project 2019 and earlier versions and this book may be used for learning these earlier versions.

Readers using Microsoft Project Professional, including 365, will have more menu options than those using Microsoft Project Standard.
