CONTENTS
FOREWORD

They say your first million is the hardest one to make. It takes talent, dedication and, above all, hard work before you can buy that sports car or retire to a desert island.

By reading this book you are thinking about where your talents lie and how you might fulfil your ambitions. But you dont have to be top of the class or from a rich family to succeed.

As a charity The Princes Trust helps thousands of young people every year who are less fortunate than most. They might have a dream, but not the support from family and friends that is vital when starting out. We help these young people by giving them the confidence to believe in themselves and the motivation to turn their dreams into reality. Its truly amazing what a relatively small amount of support can achieve.

Two young men from Huddersfield came to The Princes Trust with a basic business plan. Neither James nor Simon had done very well at school, but they did have a talent for art and a passion to do something they enjoyed. Their dream was to start a design company and work for some of the biggest brands in the world.

The Princes Trust provided them with a grant and practical advice so they could set up their first office in Jamess grandmothers attic, which was the inspiration for their company name Attik. After 18 years, their company has offices in New York, San Francisco and, of course, Huddersfield, and makes 10 million a year.

The key is to have a positive attitude to believe in yourself and your abilities. And remember, when Bill Gates was creating the worlds largest company and became the worlds richest man, he also became the biggest charitable giver in history.

Martina Milburn
Chief Executive
The Princes Trust

START MILLI-THINKING NOW!

Have you ever wondered how it would feel to be the next big business supremo, like easyJets Stelios or TV entrepreneur Peter Jones? Maybe you fancy yourself as a premier football star, like Ryan Giggs? Or perhaps playing for England, like cricketer Isa Guha? Do you long to be a singing sensation, like Katie Melua or even Katherine Jenkins? Or maybe you see yourself up there on the big screen, like Harry Potters Rupert Grint?

This book is chock-full of interviews with top people in every walk of life who are prepared to share their tips and advice on how you can make success happen. Not all of these star names are millionaires. Some are indeed megarich, but what they all have in common is the kind of milli-thinking thats taken them to the top the desire to do something to the best of their abilities and use their talents to make things happen. They all began their adventure while young, so who better to ask how to be successful than the people who have been there and done it?

You dont have to be brainy, beautiful or bold as brass to be a milli-thinker like them. Even age isnt a barrier some of our most successful names were busy being successful while they were still at school. This book is going to tell you how to develop what you have already got and get milli-thinking for yourself. Its about finding your talent and making the most of it, whether it makes you rich or not.

As well as hearing from the stars youll find step-by-step suggestions to help you achieve success in business, sport, music, drama and through the Internet, along with practical advice. Youll be given organizations and websites that can help you take your ambitions further and, with fun facts and great brain boxes to help get that grey matter into gear, youll be thinking and achieving success in no time.

Waiting till youre old to follow your dreams is so last century. Whatever your ambition, this book can help make it happen. Even if youre stuck for inspiration, it will show you how to identify exactly what your dream might be.

How to be a Teenage Millionaire is the ultimate guide to kick-starting your brilliant life.

1. BECOME AN APPRENTICE MILLIONAIRE
Why It Could Be You

Right now the millionaire dream might seem a long way from your comfortable couch. But if youre keen to join the ranks of the brightest and the best then its time to get started. Because, whoever you are, reaching the top is within your grasp!

The people who achieve big success in life and especially those who make it big while still young arent always the ones who shone at school or shouted the loudest. What made the difference was the desire to decide their own future, the ability to set their own goals, do something creative or try something that had never been done before.
