Sounds nice, right?
Look, we all want to look like we have it together, but its really tough to get your act in gear when youd rather spend your time lounging around in your leggings, scrolling through social media, and eating Funfetti cupcakesjust because you can.
Enter The Lazy Girls Guide to Life . Here youll find some pretty amazing hacks that will enable you to function passably in the real world while expending as little energy and time as possible. This will free you up for what is really important, like watching a YouTube video of a turtle dressed up like a sandwich. (Which is super adorable, btw.)
Okay, but what is a lazy girl, exactly?
A lazy girl is a person who, instead of making to-do lists, makes I cant even lists (or better yet, no lists at all). A lazy girl is someone who would rather never find out which celebrity moms ate their own placentas than have to click through one. more. page . of that annoying slideshow. A lazy girl is someone who doesnt bother to edit her phones autocorrect, and who therefore is constantly texting about giving zero ducks. Sound familiar? (No judgment hereIm a lazy girl too.)
So take the hacks that youll find throughout the book and pretend youre one of those mythical people who have it all together. Fake your clean laundry, dont tell anyone you forgot to make that dinner reservation, and make it look like youre absolutely incredible at your job. Because seriously, behind every great woman there is a lazy girl, just kind of reclining in the background and constantly hitting snooze.
PART 1
Looking Presentable
As a lazy girl youd almost certainly prefer to spend the day on the couch binge-watching Netflix than go to some stupid bridal shower, brunch, or, you know, your job. But messy buns and leggings will only take you so far and you do occasionally have to pull it together and leave the house. And when you do, you want to look great. Fortunately, you dont have to try that hard to make yourself more-than-presentable. In this part, youll learn how to fake clean hair, shaved legs, and flawless skin. Youll also find tips on the least-exhausting ways to look toned AFand you dont have to set foot anywhere near a gym. So yes, youre a lazy girl, but that doesnt mean you have to look like one...
PROBLEM
You Need Clean Hair, but Taking a Shower Is So Much Work
U gh, the burdensome task of washing your hair. The last time you tried to do it, it totally took all night... or at least it felt like it did. If only you didnt have to lather/rinse/repeat. If only you didnt have to deal with shampoo and conditioner. If only you could just hide in the house and forget the whole thing...
In any case, its been a while since you embarked on that dreaded hair-washing chore, and its starting to show. Your hair looks limp and stringy, and youre at the point where even a ponytail cant save you.
But dont worrytheres hope! All that oil that looks so gross right now? Its moisturizing your hair like natures leave-in conditionerfor free. So when you wash it next, all those people who were calling you Greased Lightning will have to step back and bask in the splendor of your shiny, lustrous hair. In the meantime, though, here are some lazy girl, clean hair hacks that will get you looking great with minimal work... because we all know youre not actually going to hop in the shower, right?
Lazy Girl Hack: Use Dry Shampoo
If you didnt have the time or energy to wash your hair this morning, dont worry. You can stop the oil slick by using dry shampoo. Dry shampoos usually come as light, quick-drying spray or powder, and you just need to apply and comb through your hair evenly. Dry shampoos absorb the oil and create the illusion of fastidious hygiene even as you ponder the idea of offering your hair as an alternate fuel source. There are a couple of things to keep in mind, though.
One is that these products often have a matte effect, so your hair might look a bit on the dull side. But of course, dull is the opposite of glistening with oil, right? That said, if you really feel that you need shiny hair for a specific reason, you can look for an additional spray to add shine (some hair powder labels include recommendations for shine products).
You Know Youre a Lazy Girl When...
Getting caught in a downpour with heavy winds is close enough to a wash and blow-dry for you.
Two is that sometimes the powder in the dry shampoo can make your hair look like its turning gray. So absolutely brush this stuff through your hair until its fully absorbed. But if that sounds like too much work, just spray and go. Better to look like you have a few grays than to look like you were too lazy for personal hygiene...
