Introduction
Are you worried about germs brewing in your house? Do you wish to make your home virus free? Are you looking for alternatives to harsh commercial cleaners? You have come to the right place!
As the world prepares for a complete shut-down, each of us is bound to have a lot of spare time on our hands. It is important to use this time wisely and a good way of keeping ourselves busy is by cleaning our houses!
Rubbing alcohol has been in use since 1888 for its disinfecting properties. Alcohol with a strength between 70-99% can be used to kill surface germs and maintain a clean house.
Rest assured, as long as you use strong alcohol, every last germ in your house can be effectively wiped out!
Without further ado, its time to put our elbow grease to good use and kick germs out of our homes!
Lets get brewing and make our own virus killing disinfectants!
Chapter 1: Disinfectants for Kitchen, Dining & Living Room
1. Doorknob Cleaner
Door knobs are the first things that should be scrubbed down in your house as they can get dirty very easily. Ensure you wipe them down until they are visibly sparkling.
Ingredients:
Instructions:
1. Pour distilled water and essential oil into a sterilized spray bottle and shake.
2. Add in alcohol and shake vigorously.
3. Spray on doorknobs and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth.
2. Dining Table and Chairs
Dining table and chairs can harbor a lot of germs since they are constantly touched. You must wipe them down every day to make sure they are germ-free.

1. Add distilled water and essential oil to a sterilized spray bottle and shake.
2. Add in alcohol and shake vigorously.
3. Spray over tables and chairs and wipe with a clean sponge.
3. Blinds
Blinds are often ignored and hardly cleaned. The right way to clean them is by opening them fully and wiping both sides of each slat.

1. Pour vinegar and orange essential oil into a sterilized spray bottle and shake.
2. Add in alcohol and shake vigorously.
3. Spray over blinds and wipe with a clean sponge.
4. Faucets
Make it a point to scrub down kitchen faucets. Using rubbing alcohol can loosen the debris and scale deposits.

1. Add vodka, vinegar and clove essential oil to a sterilized spray bottle and shake.
2. Add in alcohol and shake vigorously.
3. Spray over faucets and wipe with a clean sponge.
5. Counters
Kitchen counters should be cleaned twice a day. Use a soft microfiber cloth and this recipe for a clean counter top.
Ingredients:
1 cup rubbing alcohol
10 drops dish liquid
cup distilled water
Instructions:
1. Add water and dish liquid to a sterilized spray bottle and shake.
2. Add in alcohol and shake vigorously.
3. Spray over countertops and wipe with a wet sponge.
4. Wipe using an S pattern to make sure you dont spread the germs around.
6. Remotes and Controllers
We use remotes and controllers all the time. be it television remotes, air conditioner remotes or game controllers, they need to be wiped every single day!

1. Pour distilled water and chamomile essential oil into a sterilized spray bottle and shake.
2. Add in alcohol and shake vigorously.
3. Spray on a microfiber cloth and wipe remotes and controllers.
7. Kitchen Sink
The kitchen sink can get greasy and dirty. The best way to clean the slime is by using rubbing alcohol.
Ingredients:
cup distilled water
1 cup rubbing alcohol
cup lemon juice
Instructions:
1. Mix water, lemon juice and alcohol in a bowl and soak a sponge for 10 minutes.
2. Use it to scrub the sink.
3. Make sure you go around the sides and over the edges.
8. Vegetables and Fruits
Fruit flies can not only be annoying but also carry germs. The best way to get rid of them is by spraying them with alcohol. Just make sure you dont spray directly over fruits and vegetables.

1. Add water, alcohol and essential oil to a shaker and shake till well combined.
