Introduction
Exercise. Whether you are a seasoned gym-goer or a bit of a gymaphobe, the power it holds to make you happier and healthier is probably no secret to you. In a perfect world, we would all have the motivation and time to exercise and go to the gym, but real life just isnt like that.
Sure, there are 24 hours in a day, but it often feels like less. We are all busy people, balancing our work lives with our home lives, and this becomes even more challenging when there are spouses, children, and pets to plan around. Understandably, exercise isnt always a priority and it can be difficult to squeeze it into your day.
Spending time in the gym can take a lot of time out of your day too. Lets say it takes you 15 minutes to get there, 60 minutes to do your routine and then 15 minutes to travel back home. Thats 90 minutes out of your day (or 7.5 hours if you go five times a week) that you could spend doing other things such as enjoying quality time with your family, trying out a new hobby or even reading that new book youve heard so much about.
Fortunately, this book offers the perfect solution. My name is Archie; I am a medical student and I am interested in Sports Medicine and nutrition. I had been a regular gym-goer for many years and even used the occasional personal trainer to help me get in shape. However, this was expensive, and I struggled to fit the gym into my busy day-to-day schedule. I decided it was time to work out smarter instead of harder. I ended up terminating my gym membership and decided to pursue my fitness and body goals with home workouts instead.
My entire view on exercise has changed since I started home workouts, and I have been delighted with my progress. I continue to get fitter and I have more time throughout my week to focus on the other things in life I enjoy.

Regardless of your fitness level and experience, these workouts challenge you without leaving you feeling deflated. These exercises can be modified and altered to suit the fitness level you are at. You can easily add in extra repetitions, shorten the rest periods or incorporate additional movements to the exercises to push yourself further as your fitness and strength levels increase. Alternatively, there are ways to make the exercises easier to help ease you into them.
These exercises are perfect for burning fat
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) using your body weight is one of the best methods to burn fat because the body experiences the afterburn effect. This effect occurs when your body is working harder than normal to repay the oxygen debt that occurs during the workout in an effort to return itself to a normal resting state. In simple terms, your body keeps burning calories for hours after you have finished exercising because it is trying to restore balance. Studies have shown that the more intense your workout, the more calories you will burn and continue to burn for a longer period of time.
These exercises will improve your mental health
Exercise makes you feel good because it results in the release of endorphins. Endorphins help to relieve any underlying stress, naturally reduces blood pressure and makes you feel better about yourself and your surroundings, significantly helping to improve your mental health. People who exercise regularly can have lower chances of developing depression and anxiety, and studies have shown that the endorphins released during exercise can continue to be released for up to 24 hours after you have stopped exercising.
These exercises are convenient and space-efficient
Home workouts are very convenient and accessible. You dont need any gym equipment for these exercises, and they can easily be performed on a bedroom or living-room floor. All you need is a little bit of space and you can fit these exercises into your daily routine, whenever you have a bit of time.
