Ever wonder why you can look at a landscape where everything is in focus all the way to the horizon - but when you shoot a fly, its eyes may be in focus, but the rest of the body is fuzzy?
Want something to shoot on a rainy day when you are stuck in the house? The close-up ideas youll get from this book can keep you busy for the rest of your life!
Photographing Wildlife
Whether you are stalking the elusive snow leopard in Nepal - or the elusive gray squirrel at the local park, shooting wildlife photos is downright fun!

Message From The Author

Hello Im Dan Eitreim and Ive been shooting photographs professionally for over - photo 3

Hello, Im Dan Eitreim and Ive been shooting photographs professionally for over 20 years.

Before we get started, let me tell you a bit about me.

Getting stunning images is almost automatic for me now, but it wasnt always like that! I remember struggling to figure out what all the buttons and dials on my camera were for, and I remember the frustration at not being able to shoot the type of images I knew it was possible to produce.

I think I own just about every photo technique book available and believe me, there is a lot of misinformation and downright useless information out there.

Most photo books are written - not to really teach you anything new - but to show off the authors photographs! In this series of e-books, Ive tried my best to avoid that pitfall. While there are a lot of my own photos in here, there are also a lot of stock photos. The idea is to use the photos to demonstrate a point, not to show off my work.

Simple system

Ive developed a simple, systematic approach that ANYONE can easily master to start shooting better photos TODAY!

Once youve completed this training lesson along your photo journey, Photographing Landscapes And Nature, dont lose your momentum! Keep reading the next lesson in the series bundle...

Its time YOU put the WOW factor into your photos!

****************************

Theres something truly special in shooting the natural world and if you can capture a particularly interesting image that resonates with your viewers, it can be almost magical.

Ive seen entire careers built on the back of one image and for the non-professionals, those once in a lifetime shots can and often do win major photo contests! Shhh! Heres a secret - they arent really once in a lifetime. Once you know what to do, youll be getting amazing shots regularly.

Only One Shot Away!

Heres an interesting thought, you are only one amazing shot away from being a millionaire! True, most of you reading this book have no desire to make a living with your photos, but what if you actually DO get that one amazing shot?

This is not just hyperbole. The money is there! Back in 1981 Richard Avedon shot a photograph that he titled Natassja Kinski and the Serpent. I remember seeing a little mail order ad to send away for a copy of the poster and I did.

I seem to recall paying around $2.00 plus shipping for it - possibly a little bit more. (Back in 1981 $2.00 went further than it does now!) It was $20.00 to buy an autographed copy. A year or so later I saw an article that said that (as of that time) the poster had sold more than 2 million copies and was still going strong! (It sold for years and years after that!)

Now - almost 40 years later limited edition prints of the photo are STILL selling! Not too long ago, one of them was auctioned by Christies for around $74,000.

Lets get out our calculators. Using the lowest price of $2.00 - if it never sold more than the announced 2 million copies at that low price, thats $4 million dollars! (And in 1981, a million dollars was a lot of money.)

You may think it was a once in a generation occurrence and could never happen again but youd be incorrect! It happens all the time!

True, it was a studio shot and he didnt go trekking through the wilds to get it. Thats not the point. The point is, it adequately proves that ONE terrific shot can make you rich! Im just using that particular example because I happened to contribute my own money to his wealth!

In the world of landscapes

Who knows how many copies of Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico were sold by Ansel Adams. I would venture to guess that photo with sales of the actual print, posters and stock photography fees - has generated tens of millions of dollars. (Possibly hundreds of millions.) The photo he shot of half dome in Yosemite most likely sold just as well maybe even better!

Good Luck

You may be thinking that those were impossibly lucky shots and could never happen again, but I beg to differ. I recently saw a news clip where they were interviewing one of the judges in the 2015 National Graphic Travelers photo contest and he was asked how (in order to win) important it was to get that one lucky shot.

His reply (Im paraphrasing) was that in his 40+ years as a National Geographic photographer he only got 2 or 3 of what he would call truly lucky shots. All the rest of them were a result of hard work, study and preplanning.

As were most, if not all of the contest entries.

With this e-book, Im hoping to take the luck out of your photography too!

With the sheer magnitude of subject matter available to the photographer, you should never be at a loss as to what to shoot - and with a bit of practice, you too could start regularly winning photo contests and maybe even make a few bucks selling your images if you are so inclined!

Lets get started!

Chapter 1 NatureLandscape Photography Non-Visual Input When photographing - photo 6

Chapter 1: Nature/Landscape Photography

Non-Visual Input

When photographing nature, theres some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that there is an inexhaustible supply! No matter where you live, there is SOME sort of landscape or bit of nature you can shoot and/or practice on. Even if it is only at the nearest park there is always something!

Well, now that I think of it, I guess that if you are in prison there may not be any landscapes or nature to shoot. If that is your current situation, there is nothing of value for you in this e-book. You may as well stop reading now.
