Lee and Pat had another very busy week. They did a lot of shopping and went to lots of shops.
On Monday, they went shopping for food. They bought enough food for the week. Then, on Tuesday, they went to a pet shop with Daddy. Daddy bought a pet parrot for Pat, and some fish for Lee. Lee wanted to get a pet rat too, but that shop didnt have any. On Wednesday, they went to a bookshop with their teacher. In the bookshop, Pat saw a beautiful book all about parrots, and Lee looked for a book about rats and snakes. Lee really likes rats and snakes!

L ee and Pat are sitting in their classroom. The teacher is speaking to the children, but Lee and Pat are not listening. They are both looking out of the window. They are looking out of the window because they are waiting for Mommy.
T oday, Mommy is coming to the childrens school in her car. She is going to take Lee and Pat to the shops. Lee and Pat like to go to shops. That is why they are looking out of the window. They want Mommy to come soon. They want her to come soon so they can go shopping with her.
T he teacher can see that Lee and Pat are looking out of the window. She can see that they are not listening to her. Lee! Pat! says the teacher. Stop looking out of the window! You are in school now. When you are in school, you should listen to the teacher. Listen to me. I want to tell you what you have to do for tomorrows class.
L ee and Pat stop looking out of the window. They look at the teacher, but they are not really listening to her. They are thinking about the shops. Pat knows Mommy wants to go to the shops because they only have a little food at home now.
M ommy wants to go to the shops and get enough food for the week. She will take the children to a shop that sells fruit, a shop that sells meat, and a shop that sells fish. Then, they will go to a shop that sells drinks like milk and orange-juice. After that, they will go to a lot of other shops too. It is the other shops that Lee really wants to go to.
N ow, Lee is looking out of the window again. He can see Mommys car coming down the road. Now, Mommys car is stopping. It is stopping outside the school. Mommy is getting out of the car and coming into the school. She is coming to take the children shopping.

Pardon?
T eacher
Are you listening to me, or are you only looking out of the window and thinking about going home?
L ee
Im sorry teacher, but Im not thinking about going home. Im thinking about going shopping.
T eacher
I see. Well, you will have to wait for the class to finish first. You cant go shopping yet, can you? You can go shopping when we finish the class. You can go shopping at four oclock.
L ee
Yes, teacher. I know. Im sorry.
T eacher
Now, children. Stop what you are doing. Put down your pencils and listen to me.

Excuse me, teacher.

Yes, Lee. What is it?
L ee
Can I go to the bathroom, please?

Oh, Lee! Cant you wait? Do you have to go now?
