Have you ever thought...
What am I doing at this job? Im not challenged.

Im tired of doing the same thing year after year. Im not growing.
I feel stuck in this role. Im ready to move up.
Do I even have what it takes to get ahead at this job?
I keep applying for jobs, but no one is calling me for an interview.

Jack Nicholson once asked the question, Is this as good as it gets? If youve ever walked into your dead-end job on a boring Tuesday and had the same thought, youre not alone. How do you get to the next level? Heres the thing: if you do not have a strategy, you are guaranteed to feel stuck and stay stuck. Staying in the shallow end of the water might feel comfortable, but youre missing out on big waves of opportunity that could propel you forward.

I will share my simple techniques and key principles that will push you forward and teach you to create opportunities that will get you ahead. I will teach you how to recognize the unique talents you have and find creative ways to show the world what you bring to the table.
This book is written from my own perspective. Ive been knocked down a few times. It was painful, but those were my best lessons. Introduction

Have you ever thought

What am I doing at this job? Im not challenged.

I deserve a promotion, but I dont know how to make that happen.

Im tired of doing the same thing year after year. Im not growing.

I feel stuck in this role. Im ready to move up.

Do I even have what it takes to get ahead at this job?

I keep applying for jobs, but no one is calling me for an interview.

Im overworked and underpaid.

In this book, I will tell all the secret weapons that have helped me navigate through jobs where I felt invisible, where I constantly worked hard, and where working harder didnt get me anywhere. I will share my simple techniques and key principles that will push you forward and teach you to create opportunities that will get you ahead. I will teach you how to recognize the unique talents you have and find creative ways to show the world what you bring to the table.

You have what it takes to land a better job and earn a higher wage. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to help you find your awesome and sell it for top dollar. I will help you to bridge the gap between your badass skills and some key principles on how to get un-stuck.

I have offered career development to hundreds of people because I believe there are simple techniques that can change the way you think, and in turn, will change the way you approach your life. If I can save someone a few bruises or help heal a couple of hard blows then Ive done exactly what Ive set out to do.

This book is written from my own perspective. Ive been knocked down a few times. It was painful, but those were my best lessons. Ive learned through mistakes only to become the success story you now see today. Each chapter is full of true stories that Ive encountered throughout my life and impactful advice Ive shared with others to help them elevate. You dont want to miss out on all my secrets.

I know there are a lot of tips and tricks all over the Internet, and many of them are helpful. The intention of this book is not to contradict anyone elses viewpoint, but my hope is that it will be another tool in your toolbox. There is more than one way to win. Im telling my story and how Ive helped many people just like you. Some of the things I share may be second nature to you, and if so, thats a good thing. It will confirm what you already know. But you may actually learn a few new things and possibly even have an a-ha moment that could blow you away. Go on this journey with me and try something new; it could change your life and enhance your career.

I want to empower you to see yourself in a different light and see the things that are right in front of you with new eyes. You are doing outstanding things in your life, whether you are cleaning rooms at a five-star hotel, waiting tables at a popular restaurant, answering calls for major corporation, or managing a team of marketing agents at the #1 marketing firm with a 10 million dollar budget. Our goal is to find ways to improve your life and elevate your work. Before you dive into this book, I challenge you to learn all you can and eventually share it with others so we can all get to the next level.

This Cant Be It has been divided into two parts. Part One focuses on developing yourself as an individual. Ill touch on what you should know about becoming a leader and building other leaders, how to effectively communicate, and how to become an expert at conflict resolution. Not everyone can cultivate a high-performing team, but in Part One, you will learn how to do just that. The tools in the first half of the book prepare you for Part Two.

Once you have discovered who you are, the second half of the book will take you step-by-step in how to communicate your newfound identity to the world. You may already have top-notch skills, but just having them is not enoughyou must display them in a way that will make people want to hire you. Learning how to write a winning resume and cover letter, how to sell the dream in an interview, and how to negotiate the best pay for your worth will absolutely change the game for your career.

Part Two of This Cant Be It changes the narrative from self-improvement to showing off to the world how your superpowers will benefit them. The goal is to land the best job for you or take advantage of an opportunity to get promoted. Stop settling for the minimum wage and learn how to negotiate top dollar for your unbelievable talents.

My passion is to help people that feel trapped in a job they hate or just plain sick of others passing them by. Its your time to move up, and this book has some tools that will help you get where you want to be. Follow me in each chapter and learn how to put yourself in a great position to get ahead in your career. Dont have a career yet? These principles will help you establish one.

If you just want to coast, clock in, get your work done, clock out, and collect $200, this isnt the book for you. This advice is for someone with an unstoppable drive that wants to take their life by the steering wheel and accelerate at full speed. Empower yourself. Put yourself in the best light and get ready to shine.

Developing the Rock Star Inside

A few years ago, I started searching for my passion. I loved my job, but was it really my passion? Passion to me is doing something you love so much it doesnt feel like work. The entire time I was trying to figure out what that was, I was helping people find their awesome. Okay, the real story is, I was re-writing some pretty awful resumes, BUT in turn, it helped people find out what makes them awesome, so they can write and speak confidently about who they really are, what they have to offer, and their worth when it comes to individual growth and going beyond reach.
