In a recent study, it was discovered that Instagrams demographic is composed of a whopping 31% of users who make more than 75k per year. This means that almost one-third of the entire userbase has plenty of expendable money to spend on great products or services that they may stumble about during their daily scroll, such as yours! Nike, a fitness brand, boasts 73.3 million followers and is one of the leading fitness brands on the entire network. The pictures Nike posts set the bar for social brand identity when it comes to the fitness industry as everything they share heavily embraces the fitness lifestyle rather than solely focusing on their products. As a result, they have managed to massively increase their following and held the #1 position for fitness brands until they recently slipped into second place as Nat Geo took the lead. ASOS, another massive company on Instagram, has built an entire legacy on Instagram surrounding the promotion of sub-accounts that work as brand ambassadors. ASOS is a fashion company that seeks to inspire confidence and empowerment in all of their 7.7 million followers on Instagram. Another massive brand that has taken Instagram by storm is Starbucks, who shares their posts with 14.9 million followers and used the platform to completely reinvent itself. Starbucks once held the ranking as being the most popular brand on Instagram and is known to leverage the power of user-generated content by encouraging people to photograph their fancy beverages and snacks and share them on the popular social sharing site.
