Instagram Starter Success
The Newcomer's Guide To Dominating Instagram
Introduction
A lot has been written about Instagram over the last few years, as the site has evolved and developed into a worthy competitor to the major social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
However, many of these guides already assume prior knowledge of the site, and can be misleading and confusing to the online business owner only just getting started with exploring further social media options.
Luckily for you, that's where this guide comes in.
We will take you through every step of the Instagram process, and by the end of the report will have you feeling fully confident and able to competently market your business on the Instagram platform.
We promise not to miss out a single step on the process detailing every preliminary step you should take along the way, as well as going into finer detail about the various marketing opportunities that Instagram can offer the online marketer in 2017.
There is a misconception that Instagram is only useful for those involved with certain 'visual' professions, such as photography or the creative arts, but this is demonstrably untrue.
Instagram really is helping marketers from all walks of life and various niches to reach a targeted audience of followers, and is beginning to account for a higher percentage of sales and conversions for online marketers than at any point in its (fairly brief!) history.
Hopefully, by the end of this report we will have convinced you of the many benefits which Instagram can provide to you, enabling you to move forward and apply the tactics herein to integrate the site as part of the overall social media strategy of your business.
As we have said though, this is a report for those new to Instagram, and before we move on to getting started, it's important to learn exactly what Instagram is, and how it can be of benefit to your business.

Instagram In A Nutshell
In its simplest form, Instagram is one of the most popular social networking sites on the Internet, dedicated to sharing and distributing photographs and videos, particularly through the Instagram app now freely available on every major smartphone.
While all the other major social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have major applications in terms of photos and videos, they are not the primary focus of the site.
That's where Instagram is different, and enables the site to stand out somewhat dramatically to its competitors.
As we mentioned in the introduction, the site is fairly new, and was only launched in 2010, making it much younger than other social media sites, and a kind of younger cousin to another site dedicated to photography, Pinterest.
However, despite its youth, the Instagram site is growing in popularity at a phenomenal rate, with an estimated user base of over two hundred million people using the site on a monthly basis, a percentage of whom do not hold any other social media accounts.
This means that there really is the potential to tap into a huge number of new followers to your business.
Instagram has also grown incredibly popular with established brands, with over 91% of US department stores having used the site to promote their own products or services in the previous twelve months.
It is also considered an immensely 'sticky' site, with over 60% of it's monthly users coming back to the site on a daily basis therefore, you can clearly see the advantages of posting regularly to the site, in a way which you may refrain from on Facebook and LinkedIn, for example.
The site has also grown popular with celebrities, and many world famous stars now hold accounts and post to Instagram on a daily basis.
This fact has only helped in garnering further attention to the site as it continues to grow.
Despite the fact that Instagram is primarily a photo/video sharing site, it holds huge potential for all niche marketers, and we will explore these benefits a little further in the next chapter.
For now, I'd just like to reiterate the point that even if you have never considered applying photo/video sharing to your current niche, the Instagram process is extremely compatible with every known niche, and can wield fantastic results for any online business.
Although Instagram was bought by Facebook in 2012 (for a reported $1 billion!), it remains its own entity and the marketing efforts applied to the site by the Facebook team have only served to ensure the site remains more vital in 2016 than ever before.
Now you have a good understanding of what Instagram is, and the functions it performs, it's time to look at how you can apply these functions to your own business in a marketing capacity.
This is where you can really begin using Instagram as part of your overall social media strategy.
How Can Instagram Help Your Business
So, now you have learned a little about what Instagram does and the marketing potential it undoubtedly holds, it's time to find out exactly how you can take advantage of Instagram to benefit your own online (or offline!) business.
Of all the social media platforms out there, it would probably be fair to say that when Instagram first launched in 2010, it was deemed a 'fun' site one which was more likely to used for personal enjoyment, as opposed to monetary gain.
Therefore, it took a little while for the site to initially catch the imagination of business owners, and those who wished to apply the site to marketing ends.
However, the explosion in popularity over the last five years or so in terms of photo and video sharing has meant that Instagram really cannot be ignored any longer as a viable method of engaging a huge audience of potential leads.
In 2016, you will struggle to find a reputable business or marketer who does not have an Instagram account even if they are only infrequent users of the site, the recognition is there that Instagram is a powerful marketing tool, and the number of users alone should convince you to at least consider applying it to your own business.
