About the Authors
Manoj Das is Senior Director of Product Management at Oracle, and is responsible for Oracles BPM Suite of products. Manojs Business Process Management ( BPM) journey started at Siebel Systems, where he was responsible for the next-generation process-centric and insight-driven application platform. Since joining Oracle as part of the Siebel acquisition, Manoj has been a key member of the business integration team, focused on BPEL, Business Rules, and BPM. He plays a leadership role setting BPM and SOA industry standards, especially in BPMN 2.0, BPEL, and Business Rules. He is widely recognized at industry conferences and Information Technology publications and has published articles related to BPEL, BPEL4People, and BPMN. He has also contributed articles to the Workflow Management Coalitions yearly handbooks, including those on Social BPM. Manoj has a BS in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from UC Berkeley. He has held senior Product Management, Development Management, and Product Development positions at Oracle, Siebel, Mentor Graphics, and others.
Dr. Manas Deb, a Senior Director in the Fusion Middleware (FMW) core product group at Oracle HQ, currently leads outbound product management for all of the Business Integration Products within the FMW family, worldwide. These products include Business Process Management Suite, SOA Suite, Complex Event Processing, and Governance. Manass charter is focused on market growth, revenue generation, and the strategic adoption of these products. Manas has worked in the software industry for more than 20 years, most of which was spent in software product management/marketing and on architecting and leading a wide variety of enterprise-level application development and business integrations and process management projects in a wide variety of industries. Manas is an engineering graduate of IIT Kharagpur. Manas attended post-graduate studies at Memorial University in St. Johns, Canada and the University of Texas at Austin. He has an MS in Engineering, a PhD in CAM (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Engineering), as well as an MBA with a specialization in international business.
Mark Wilkins started his career with a large Systems Integrator, and has more than 20 years consulting experience with a wide variety of clients, spanning the health care, banking, and telecommunications industries. Business Process Management has been a reccurring theme throughout this journey, taking many twists and turns along the way. Currently working as Enterprise Architect for Oracles Global Enterprise Architecture Program, Mark has a renewed focus on BPM, working across product lines to develop BPM architectural strategies and methodologies. Mark joined Oracle from BEA where he was instrumental in developing Service Oriented Architecture methods and service offerings, enabling a new strategic consulting practice. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure and Applied Physics from the University of Manchester, England. Originally from the UK, he now lives with his all-American family in close proximity to the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Colorado.
