About the Author
Jeff Scheidel received a B.A. in Computer Science in 1984, and spent the next decade developing business solutions for both startups and large corporations. Starting in 1993, he built teams of solution architects and sales engineers for a series of successful startups and, from 1997, began concentrating on security and identity, architecting solutions for dozens of Fortune companies. Besides authoring whitepapers, documentation, and articles for Computerworld and other outlets, Jeff has also evaluated technology companies for M&A purposes; lectured on security, compliance, and cloud computing; and published a couple of novels. He lives in the Chicago area with his wife, two children, a room full of guitars, and a dachshund.
About the Technical Editors
Gary Bodiford has been involved in sales and consulting across the spectrum of Security Technology Software and Services for over 15 years. His professional career includes tenure with noteworthy security organizations such as Network General, Network Associates, Netegrity, Computer Associates, and Oracle. His primary specialization over the last decade has been on Identity Management, RBAC, and GRC. His experience includes working with many of the Fortune 500 companies across the midwestern and southwestern United States. Currently, he resides in Plano, Texas, with his family.
Darren Calman is currently Director of Product Management for Identity Management and Security products at Oracle. He is responsible for outbound product management and go-to-market strategy for the Identity and Access Management suite of products. Darren was previously Vice President of Business Development for Phaos Technology, which was acquired by Oracle in 2004.
Rhon Daguro has been working in the Identity and Access Management space since 1998 and has custom-built IAM solutions for several companies prior to implementing world-class IAM solutions with Oracle. Hes taken a focus on fine-grained authorization and entitlements and has contributed to the XACML standard, which governs interoperability between the vendors. Outside of work, he has a passion for developing natural user interfaces with touch screens and how they apply to everyday life.
Steve Wolford is Director of Business Development at Oracle Corporation where he is responsible for the go-to-market strategy across Oracles line of Security solutions in North America. He arrived at Oracle from their acquisition of the role management vendor Bridgestream, where he ran Product Management. At prior startups in Silicon Valley over the past 12 years, he has held key leadership positions in Product Management, Consulting, and Engineering. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he holds a B.A. in History from Brown University, and currently resides in San Francisco.
