Introduction

What is the best way to exercise? From my experience, and Ive tried all kinds, nothing beats natural bodyweight workouts. You dont need fancy machines or gimmicks. You just need to work with what God and nature have given you, namely your own body. This is what the animals in nature do, and this is what you should do too. I actually created an entire website dedicated to this idea at animal-kingdom-workouts.com . Feel free to check it out to learn more.

So, now that you know something about my exercise philosophy what is the idea behind the book you are currently holding in your hand? This book is a compilation of three of my best selling books on natural exercise. All of the exercises you will find in here are complete exercises or workouts in and of themselves. They are meant to give you a taste of what can be accomplished when you take a natural approach to fitness. Of course I do hope that if you find these exercises worthwhile you will consider getting the full books that they are based on. However, this is not necessary. You could just do the routine from the Stretching Exercise Bible included here, for example, and get in fantastic shape. Its really up to you and what you want to accomplish.

If you havent already I would also suggest that you pick up the introductory edition of Home Exercises For Everyone . You should be able to pick it up for cheap (Im hoping to make it free) but it contains a great little routine as well that I literally do everyday. Its worth checking out as well.

The Stretching Exercises Bible: Learn How To Stretch With Dynamic Stretching And Flexibility Exercises

Introduction To Stretching

Why is it a good idea to practice some kind of flexibility and stretching program? For that matter why is it a good idea to engage in any kind of exercise program at all? For me the answer is simple. It helps me look good and (more importantly) feel good. If I dont stretch or exercise in some fashion everyday I feel stiff and sore. Its hard for me to perform at my best at any task when I know Im not at my best physically. Our bodies are designed to move. When we dont use them we are betraying our physical nature. We are less than we can be.

By instinct animals in nature are constantly moving and engaging in dynamic stretching exercises of various kinds. For them keeping their bodies finely tuned is a matter of life and death as they never know when they might have to push themselves to their limit in any given situation. This is why it is imperative for them to keep themselves flexible and powerful.

In the not so distant past human beings had to work just as hard as animals in order to survive. Chopping, tilling, planting and hunting helped us to stay strong and healthy. In the modern world however this has all changed. Most of our jobs are far from physically taxing (most of us sit at desks all day) and we now use machines (cars, escalators, elevators) to make our lives easier. Although all of these modern conveniences are nice our bodies have suffered for it. Physically we are designed by evolution to move and work. When we dont do this tension collects and muscles become sore and weak. We lose touch with our physical natures and with lifes energies. We are the poorer for it.

This book is all about natural flexibility and stretching exercises that are designed to get your body energy flowing again to reconnect with your natural self. This book does contain a whole section devoted to the standard static stretching exercises that most people think of when they think of stretching. However, it is not just limited to this. To me, stretching is about fine-tuning and energizing your body. Static stretches, done properly, can do this, but there are other ways as well. Beyond conventional static stretching exercises, you will also find sections on the following:

Deep Breathing Exercises - The act of simply breathing deeply and with purpose can have dramatic and positive effects on the body. Martin Farmer Burns was known to have said that deep breathing alone ...could make a weak man strong and a sick man well. Your breath is your life is a common saying in yoga circles. Try these deep breathing exercises and see for yourself.

Energy Exercises - These exercises are meant to revive you and are particularly effective after long periods of inactivity such as when youre working in front of a computer.
