They are constantly ridiculed for not having control over their eating urges. They are also on the receiving end of frequent advice to work out and lose weight. However, only a person suffering from obesity knows that these options don't really work out. While the advice sounds reasonable, its not particularly helpful. Weight in itself is a debilitating factor. Working out with so much weight is not that easy as it is for fit people. Controlling their appetite becomes difficult and painful in their normal routine due to significant biological factors. The odds are never really in their favor.

    Does this mean that they don't have options? No, it doesnt.

    There are several examples where even extremely obese people have turned their lives around. It was challenging, but they did it. This means that it can be achieved. Can anyone do it? Hypothetically speaking, yes. Practically, no. Everyone can attempt to pump iron in the gym for 10 hours a day and build a body that people would die for. However, only a handful of people are can actually to do it.

    It is also a myth that weight loss methods don't work. However, the same weight loss methods don't work for everyone. The only reason behind failures and successes is the amount of effort. This can't be the same for everyone. Therefore, you can't expect everyone to turn their lives around by traditional weight loss measures. Many of those methods aren't even practically viable for obese people in general. They do not answer even the primary indicator of success, long-term sustainability.
