Because of the idea of skipping a meal is practically taboo in todays society, the practice of fasting is often seen as an unhealthy attempt at losing weight. After all, at a very young age we were told that breakfast was the most important meal of the day, and skipping meals was unhealthy and would make you sick. But what many people dont realize is that we fast every single day already: while we are sleeping. This is the most basic form of intermittent fasting, which is what todays most popular fitness and health experts have built the modern method of short-term fasting on.
