ENDORSEMENTS
Maxine Marsolini has written a raw and powerful story of an abusive mother and a son who yearns to overcome the wounds inflicted upon him as a child. Its a sometimes ugly, but always realistic, portrayal of an abused child and how those wounds affect his life even as an adult. Written sometimes in the second person but also in the words of the abused, Marsolini incorporates excellent strategies at the end of each chapter for both abusers and the abused. This unique book is destined to help many of the most hurting in our culture.

Maxine Marsolini has introduced us to an almost unimaginable world of horror in her book: A Mothers Fury. Sadly, the story of Charles Rice, which is told in the book, is not fiction, and it is not as rare as we might hope. Child abuse and neglect is a cancerous reality in our neighborhoods, and is carried forward generation after generation by those who were themselves first innocent victims. The abuse and neglect they suffered was the template given to them of how parents are expected to interact with their own children.
However awful the realities of child abuse are, there still remains hope for the victims, both young and old, and this is the powerful message Ms. Marsolini bring to us in her book.
At the close of each chapter, are exercises designed to open the doors to healing and freedom from the pain of childhood abuse. Solidly anchored in the truth of Scripture, and in good therapeutic activities, the opportunity is presented for the reader to begin the journey to wholeness.
This book can serve well as a starting point for discussions and interventions to enable and empower the victims to step forward onto a path of forgiveness and healing in a nurturing relationship with God.
While many victims of childhood abuse will need professional help beyond the scope of this book, I strongly believe that A Mothers Fury is a valuable and important statement that hope and healing can be found for the victims still suffering from the wounds of their childhoods.

My first book, Out of Control, told how God delivered me from being a child abuser. Maxine Marsolinis book looks at the problem of child abuse from the childs viewpoint and it is a powerful, compelling, and yes, painful book, but oh, so very, very needed. I wish it had been available when I was struggling with abusive anger. I believe it would have helped me. I feared I was ruining my childs life but I also believed God no longer loved me. Marsolini includes help for both the abused child and the abuser. I trust it will help others know there is healing for that child and there is Gods faithful love and power for that abuser. There was for me and my child. Today, we share a fabulous relationship!

DEDICATION
T hank you, Charles Rice, for sharing your story. You know firsthand what it means to live with a volatile mother. I am aware that those memories ushered in tears and triggered flashbacks. They testified to wounds that ran deep and cried out to be released. No child should ever experience such grievous wrongs and bear such devastating pain.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where sin exists and bad things do happen to children. The choice to move beyond a mothers fury took courage. However, in that momentous act of courage to move forwardto that place of letting go, you found the fresh air of freedoms balm to soothe your dreadful past. Your voice will help other victims of childhood abuse release their own trauma.
It is my prayer that those raised under the heavy hand of an abusive mother will move beyond their sufferings to discover how very real Gods love is. Beloved child, you are the apple of His eye. The God, who gave you life, loves you with an everlasting, never-ending, immeasurable love.
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and
have no compassion the child she has bone?
Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
Isaiah 49:15 NIV
Sometimes life is so atrocious that surviving is its
own great achievement and a strange proof
of sorts that God must exist.

CONTENTS
FOREWORD
I ts difficult for many of us to realize that mothers can be so damaged themselves that they inflict immeasurable pain on their children. This is the story of Charles, an emotionally and physically abused son, who constantly tries to appease an unappeasable mother. Marsolini provides frequent pauses for self-reflection for the abused, the abuser, and for anyone who seeks a greater measure of hope and joy in life.
