Melissa Henig is a master chef in my world! Her raw butter pie has no equal. It is light, fluffy, buttery, sweet, not cloying, and just right. Melissa loves raw fat, and has not an extra ounce on her own bodyshe knows raw fat does not make you fat, but cleanses, heals and soothes the nerves, is used by every cell in the body to make their cell wall, and makes you satisfied. Raw butter is the best fat: it is absorbed by the stomach rather than the intestine, and therefore needs no bile.

She makes eating fat fun and tasty! Even better theyre good for you. When you love what you eat, it is absorbed and used even better. When you are happy, you get healthier! It's important to have fun and tasty food in your life, especially when you are avoiding the terrible changes made in the food available at your local bakery and grocery.
So eat right, organically grown or better, only non-GMO foods (which means NO high fructose corn syrup or most processed, prepared foods) and eat the food our bodies evolved to eat: uncooked, unheated, raw, fresh food. Including raw milk and milk products (which are mostly higher in good bacteria), raw meat, raw fats, nuts and seeds, as well as leafy green vegetables and others you can eat raw, and finally fruit (with fat to slow down the sugars, like avocado or raw whipping cream. Yum!).

Cooked food is a relatively recent fad, learned primarily to eat grains, which we cannot naturally eat unless they are sprouted. Cooking is really a way to create cities and empires. Grains were originally used to get through the winter and were necessary to feed large populations living in one location. Most of those people were slaves or little better than slaves, serfs or workers. Cooked food keeps them functional, but not optimal.

They all have a history of eating raw eggs, raw milk, raw cheeses, yogurts, and kefirs. Until we were filled with lies about how much better it is for us to cook our meat well done, most people liked their meat rare. In Texas it was almost a crime to do more than wave your steak over the barbecue.
Cooking today is required because of the poor farming and meat packaging practices. Animals are fed unnatural feed, which makes their bodies acidic, and they are partially sick all the time (like humans who eat "regular" food). We have man-made and man encouraged bacteria and viruses, created by feeding low levels of antibiotics to keep the animals from having fevers and being unwilling to eat, and cover up that they are sick.

Good news is there are many farms who know how to raise healthy animals without antibiotics or vaccines (Polyface Farms). Even better, poor land can be reclaimed and restored using these farming methods (see Alan Savory and Holistic Management International). We can feed far more people with these sustainable farming methods, which produce healthy, safe food, than with the push for vegetarian food which depends on giant food conglomerates and GMO seeds.

A Note for the Reader :
I chose the title Raw Paleo-Primal because I found that my body thrives on a raw omnivore diet that includes raw meat (paleo) and raw dairy (primal). I also include traditional foods like bone broth, but mainly focus on all types of raw foods. At other times my body craves only watermelon and fresh fruit for several days.
I wrote this book for the paleo devotees who want to be introduced to the raw aspect of this amazing diet. The raw primal dieters and curious raw vegans may also benefit from this knowledge.

Also for anyone that wants to take their health to the next level.
Raw Paleo-Primal is the culmination of 15 years of my quest for optimal health. At times, it has felt like walking through a forest meadow and at other times, like scaling a mountain. There are as many paths to health as there are people on this gorgeous planet thats what makes life so interesting for me. Im a living testament to the fact that Raw-Paleo Primal works for me; however, another diet may work even better for you.

I believe that were all a part of the circle of life; that life isn't possible without death. I cherish and am grateful for the sacred gift that animals give us with their flesh. I nourish myself with the exact amount of raw meat my body needs, and no more. Every person is unique and needs different amounts of meat for healing and regeneration during various periods.
