Preface

Axure continues to garner rave reviews from the design community and is one of the leading tools for rapid prototyping that is in use today. With Axure, one can easily create wireframes and clickable prototypes. Using AxShare (Axure's cloud-based prototype-hosting service) and the new AxShare mobile app (http://www.axure.com/learn/axshare/app), prototypes can be easily shared with collaborators and clients alike.

These are just a few reasons for Axure's continued popularity. When Axure 7 was released, the Axure community was presented with a new framework. The improved framework also supported adaptive prototyping.

Additional enhancements to Axure (for example, the Repeater widget) and AxShare (for example, the AxShare plugins) provide a new level of prototyping excellence. With Axure RP 8 and Axure RP 8 Pro, the bar has once again been raised.

Axure Prototyping Blueprints will present to the novice, as well as experienced users, common design patterns for exploration and continued learning. Armed with these new design patterns and methods, readers can complete projects faster and with increasing levels of interactivity.

This book has been a labor of love and it is my third book on Axure and prototyping. I wish that Axure Prototyping Blueprints empowers you on your journey to Axure mastery. My other two books, Axure RP Prototyping Cookbook and Learning Axure RP Interactive Prototypes , both by Packt Publishing, complete the Axure trilogy. I hope my books will increase your knowledge and become reference materials for you in the future. You should know that, in addition, the Axure community (http://www.axure.com/community) is always ready to provide additional insights and assistance, if the need arises.

What this book covers

, Laying the Foundation , provides an introduction for novice users and a refresher for more experienced users to fundamental Axure terminology, interfaces, and concepts. A high-level introduction to the Adaptive View feature, released in Axure 7, will also be provided.
