If youre a member of the team in your organization that is responsible for SharePoint Online in your environment, this book will help you understand what your team needs to think about when it comes to your deployment. If youre responsible for managing a consulting firm that is implementing SharePoint Online on your behalf, you need to read this book.

If you are totally new to SharePoint administration, this book will help you ramp up on how to administrate SharePoint Onlinenot only because I go through many (but not all) of the core how to tasks in which administrators engage, but because I also drop in comments as to why youre doing what youre doing and offer ideas to consider relative to that task. In fact, nearly all of , has little to do with how to administrate a site collectionit is focused on the business issues that naturally bubble up when SharePoint Online is used.

Solving the core problems of governance, risk, compliance, taxonomies, processes, and training associated with a SharePoint Online deployment is the macro focus of this book and is, in my view, the core of good SharePoint administration. For those who are looking for deep technical drill-downs in the technology, theres a plethora of books, blog posts, podcasts, conferences, magazine articles, online articles, white papers, and websites that will satisfy your curiosities. But dont look to this book to reveal that type of knowledge. I didnt write this book for the highly technical audience.
