Welcome to Get Ahead! Basic Sciences: 500 SBAs.
The book contains a collection of SBAs to help you practice for your Basic Sciences exam, covering topics in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and biochemistry. In addition to testing core knowledge, the questions also encompass important problems that are relevant to clinical practice.
Practice questions are the best way of reinforcing knowledge and give you a realistic idea of how effective your revision is. As you draw closer to your exam, it is important to do as many practice questions as you can in order to familiarize yourself with the thought process and to do whole practice papers so you pace yourself correctly on the actual day of the exam. The more questions you do, the more you will begin to see the common themes and patterns that are easy marks to pick up in the exam, which can be the difference between a pass and a fail.
We have divided this book into 10 papers, each consisting of 50 questions with detailed answers supplied at the end of each paper. Explanations have been provided to help you understand the right answer and why the other options are not correct. You should aim to take 60 minutes on each paper, leaving you around a minute for each question.
We hope this book, and its companion volume Get Ahead! Basic Sciences: 100 EMQs, helps you prepare, and most importantly pass, your exams! Best of luck to you and remember to practice, practice, practice!
