Unfortunately, Mother Nature didnt find it necessary toequip us with a nose that grows every time we spit out a lie (andfor good reason which we will get to in a bit). My phone wasnt blowing up like it once did and itdestroyed me because I felt like I was the one who did somethingwrong. How can someone so beautiful and someone you care for somuch just act like youre not there? I bet you can relate. Thatswhy I am here and I am going to help you. If you thought the above statistic about lying wasinteresting, youre about to find out why we lie so darn much. Tokeep things simple, we lie for our own self-interest. This soundsbad but its perfectly normal. In fact, you need to lie to keepsociety running smoothly. Just think if everyone told the truth.There would be so much hate in this world we wouldnt know what todo. Even Ghandi smacked people around without good reason.

The real question is: Why he is lying to you andbeing an asshole? I assume youre a smart, beautiful, and lovelywoman who deserves the best. So how did this become as messed up asa soup sandwich and how did he make you feel as useless as afootball bat? To understand why we make these lies for our ownself-interest and feel its okay, its important to know thedifference between logic and morals. While both sexes use logic andmorals when they tell a lie, men are more logical while women aremore moral.

Logic is reasoning conducted orassessed according to strict principles of validity. Basically, logic is a common sense reason for something. Inour case, morals are put aside.

Morals are concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior andthe goodness or badness of human character.

What does all this mean? From yourpoint of view, youre looking at his lies from a moral standpoint.You have the mindset of, How can someone directly lie to someone?After I have done so much for him? I care for him so much why wouldhe treat me like this?

Unfortunately,the reason he is doing it to you (besides not being interested oryou pushing him away) is because he is looking at it from a logicstandpoint. Think about it. If you were blowing up his phone, whywould he text back and fuel the fire? It doesnt make sense. To goeven further, if hes not interested, why would he reach out toyou? That doesnt follow common sense. Where the friction lies isyou guys have two different outlooks on what is happening andyoure both right. You feel this isthe Yin-Yang of relationships.

The reason you think he is an asshole is hestreating you wrong in a moral sense. I agree with you. Its wrongto lie to someones face. That shows disrespect and a lack ofsympathy. If that person youre interested in dragged you aroundwith that lie for his own pleasures, then you shouldnt be worryingabout getting him to like you despite him being a nice guy mostof the time. From a moral sense, he lied and you should kick him tothe curve.

However, Mother Nature and Evolution dont seeit that way. The goal of all livingspecies is to survive and replicate. Studies haveshown time and time again thats the primary goal of all livingorganisms.

We learn that lying has some big rewards. In fact,lying lets you have your cake and eat it too. Lets take lying ononline dating for example (because of the perverted men):

You meet a nice guy online who reaches out to youand is sweet as can be. You mention on your profile that youreinterested in a relationship and nothing short-term. On hisprofile, it says he is interested in short-term dating. You askhim, Your profile says youre just interested in dating. He willprobably reply with something along the lines of, Oh thats old. Iam ready for a relationship and then tell you the stuff you wantto hear based off of your profile and what is socially accepted. Heattracts you because hes a nice and fun. Hes different than theother men youve dated. You two end up hanging out and eventuallyhook up. The next day, hes a little distant. Hes not texting youas much, youre always initiating it, hes short when you do talkand it always about hooking up, and over time hes out of yourlife.

Youre probably wondering what went wrong. Why wouldhe lie to you about that? Some women wouldnt even feel lied to.They would just say hes a jerk. Well, lets look at logic.

If he told you, I dont want a relationship I justwant to see what is around, you probably wouldnt give him achance. He knows this so logically, why would he say it? Itsagainst his evolutionary makeup (survive and replicate). Youre madbecause he lied to you from a moral sense and left you feelingconfused and unwanted. So to fulfill his evolutionary needs, hetells you a lie, does the bare necessities a man needs to do, andits over faster than it started.

So who is at fault here? Its a tricky one but itseither you both are or you both arent. From your point of view heis wrong for lying to you to your face and leaving you like that.However, the problem isnt who is wrong. its understanding whathappened. He was right from a logical standpoint so therefore hebelieves it was justified. Its like arguing with someone who hasfaith. You can argue with someone all you want its still not goingto change his or her mind of anything. Despite all the stuff youbring to the table, he/she believes that theyre right. So whatdoes a woman do about this? She builds a filter that only qualitymen can cross.

What is a quality man? He is a man who treats youwith respect and listens. He provides you with things not becauseyoure incapable but because he wants you to be happy. He is a manwho fits your ideal description and he makes you want to be thebest person you can possibly be. At the end of it all, if theperson you are with doesnt make you want to become the best personyou can be, he shouldnt be a dating option. You better your lifeby raising your standards. No more liars, okay?
