Preface
A Typical Day
Last week I found myself feeling restless after being housebound and confined to bed for five days with a wicked flu. Wanting a change of scenery but still extremely low on energy, I decided that the most ambitious outing I could muster was picking up my daughter from her appointment with her tutor.
After I left the house and drove a few blocks, the gray sky suddenly darkened, and the clouds burst with a rare winter thunderstorm. In the midst of heavy traffic, and without warning, my car sputtered, jerked, and to my absolute dismay, died. I managed to negotiate my way out of the traffic by coasting to the curb, and attempted to try the ignition several times to no availthe engine was completely dead. Rats! I screamed, frustrated at my predicament. With a low-grade fever still zapping my energy, this was all I needed to make me feel worse. To top it off, my daughter was expecting me to pick her up and get her back home in time for her next tutoring appointment.
I got out my cell phone and called my husband, Patrick, for help. He said he couldnt come for at least an hour, as he was on the other side of the city caught in the same traffic tie-up that I was in. Hanging up and feeling very sorry for myselfnot to mention worried about my daughter waiting in the rain for meI began to pray. I asked my spirit helpers, my guides, if any of them knew a car mechanic in the spirit realm, and if so, could he or she fix my car right away. I sat very quietlycalming my frustration, surrendering my fears, and opening my heart.
I know you can help me, and Id be so grateful if you would. Just let me know what I should do, I intoned.
All of a sudden I had an impulse to rub my hands together as if to generate heat, and then put them on the dashboard. Give the car your energy, I heard telepathically. Do not worry about feeling run-down. Place your hands on the dashboard and let your heart revive the engine.
Being that I completely trust and accept my guidance without question, I did just that and envisioned energy running from my heart, through my body, and into the car.
It is done, I heard and felt. I put one hand on the steering wheel, took a deep breath, and started the ignition with the other hand. The engine sputtered, then voilit turned over! The car came to life and was running once again. Laughing out loud, I thanked my guides profusely. Youre the best! I screamed. I knew youd help.
I sat for a few minutes listening to the engine to make sure it was really ready to roll again, and then, without further ado, I was back on my way.
Five minutes later the rain subsided, and I pulled up in front of the tutors house. My daughter Sabrina skipped out of the door and jumped into the car. Sorry Im late, she said, out of breath. We went a few minutes longer than usual.
No problem, I said, smiling. I just got here myself.
With that, we happily headed home, saved once again by the spirits that assist me whenever I call. Such is a day in my life as a psychicfilled with guides, angels, and helpers on the Other Side who are ever present to make my life easier.

Introduction
What We Can Expect
I grew up in a household filled with spirit guides of every sort. I came upon the awareness of my spirit companionship gradually, being first introduced to my guides when I was very young by my mother, who talked to her guides, as well as mine, all the time. She was the first to let me know that I was never alone in the world and that I had guides who were assigned to watch over, help, protect, and teach me throughout my lifetime.
