In 2003, I was fortunate to be cast as Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls. I use the word fortunate not only because the movie would go on to be loved for years to come, but while filming it, I made some wonderful friends. One of those very special people is Jonathan Bennett. When he asked me to write this foreword, I became very nostalgic about meeting him on set in Toronto all those years ago. I remember being instantly taken by his infectious laugh and his zest for life. One of my favorite qualities about Jonathan is that he manages to turn every experience into an adventure! While filming we became very close. Im proud to say, all these years later, we remain great friends.

Weve not only acted alongside one another in various projects since, but weve celebrated many of lifes milestones together throughout the years. Whether its a birthday or holiday, Jonathan always makes sure to celebrate the occasion to the fullest! So many of these celebrations, which have now become fond memories, have been centered around a delicious meal, and maybe a cocktail or two ;). It only seems fitting that Jonathan, of all people, would write a cookbook as fun as this one!

I believe fans of the Plastics will love this cookbook. The recipes are fun and easy to make and will bring you and your group of friends closer together. The charm and excitement that Jonathan brings to life is infused throughout the pages of this cookbook. I hope you enjoy hanging out with him and will gather your group of friends to reminisce and laugh even if you dont go here.

HEY! ITS ME JONATHAN BENNETT, you met me as that man candy from Mean Girls, aka Aaron Samuels. You know, the one who only cares about school, his mom, and his friends. I know that before we go any further, I should probably answer some of your questions and just get them out of the way. So here we go:

A. No, I dont hang out with Lindsay every day.

B. Yes, Rachel McAdams is just as amazing and cool as you had hoped.

C. I am aware of what day it is: its October 3rd.

D. Yes, I know my hair looks sexy pushed back.

E. No, Im not actually good at math.

F. Hard as she tried, Gretchen Wieners couldnt get fetch to happen at North Shore. But since the movie came out, it has become an iconic phrase in pop culture.
