INTRODUCTION
This book is aimed at the reader who has started playing Minecraft and is ready to get involved in some of the more technical aspects of Minecraft. The book explains how to use redstone to make interesting contraptions. It also explains how to use both the qCraft and ComputerCraft mods.
Taking this even further, the book shows you in easy steps how to start creating your own mods with a little Java programming.

How to Use the Book
The book is designed to gradually progress through levels of difficulty so that you can master these advanced sides of Minecraft. It therefore assumes a basic familiarity with Minecraft. The book is organized into the following chapters:
: Introduction An introduction to Minecraft including basic crafting and forging as well as the options available in setting up a new world and getting started. If you already play Minecraft, then you can probably skip most of this chapter.
: Basic Redstone In this chapter, you will learn the very basics of redstone, such as power and knowing what can be controlled by it, and how to use basic redstone items like levers, buttons, and lamps. You will also make a basic redstone-controlled door.
: Redstone Logic Gates Stepping up a gear from basic redstone, this chapter covers the creation of commonly used logic gates and flip-flops that can be used to build really advanced contraptions.
: Advanced Redstone Applying some of the techniques from the previous chapters, this chapter shows you how to make block swappers, door locks and a functional seven-segment display.
: Miscellaneous Redstone
