Salads are under-rated by many. Many people treat them as the thing on the side that you should eat and they eat a hot meal as their main nutrition. I know because that used to be me! But salads can be the most amazing main part of your meal and I want to show you how!

The other wonderful way is to front load them with green smoothies. I have found with my own family that using green smoothies has made our daughter way more interested in experimenting with salads. My goal of providing her with the best nutrition I can is made so much easier.

Making Super Salads

Something I learned about two decades ago when I read Lesley and Susannah Kentons book Raw Energy is that if you want to really enjoy the flavors of your vegetables then cut them very small. Seems silly that a small detail (pardon the pun) would make such an impression on me.

Out of that was born one of our family favorites The Super Salad.

You dont always have to cut everything small. The trick is to prepare your vegetables differently . Its not very attractive (for the eyes, the palate or the stomach) for every salad you eat to look the same.

Friends of mine, Laurentine and James who produced the world famous Food Matters movie and the Hungry For Change movie, told me in an interview for my yoga website (http://www.HotYogaDoctor.com) that a simple, fantastic way of really amping up the quality of your food intake is to Add A Salad.

Add a salad

This simple rule is one that can transform your eating habits and your health. It came as a big relief to distill the path to vibrant health to something so incredibly easy. Of course, creating some reasonable variety is still key.

If youve been making the same old salad with the same bottled vinaigrette then it is exciting to know that you can make changes easily. This is what this book is about.

So, adding a salad can help you make a different taste. But just imagine for a moment that each of the 3 salads on your table is prepared with your garden variety grater. I can tell you that not only will it not look very appealing it will feel same old same old (boring) in the mouth.

If every mouthful feels the same then your experience is going to lose its appeal very quickly even if the salads are different.

Having different ways to prepare your veggies is a gift. Thankfully there are lots of very inexpensive gadgets that will help you be creative. Read on for some excellent ideas on how to create the perception of different salads just by varying the texture.
