Their formula for being happy is to try to control all the external events and people in their lives to be exactly the way they want. This is a tiresome activity at best, and there are always some events and people that we cant controlthus leading to endless frustration and stress. However, there is a new model for finding more joy and peace of mind: find it within your self. Of course, this is a not a new idea. Everyone from the Buddha to Jesus has said that heaven can be found within, but now there are cutting edge and more efficient ways to tap into this magical kingdom.

Some of my favorite happiness hacks involve taking certain supplements that help me to feel focused, energized, and joyous. I list over a dozen of them in my book. Popping a safe pill in your mouth is a much easier way to find happiness than trying to control every person and situation in your life to be the way you want! The vast majority of people find a handful of ways to feel good, and then give up the search for more ways to feel deeper joy and happiness. Its a terrible shame. In an age when depression is rampant and dangerous drug use is epidemic, amazing new ways to feel peaceful, euphoric, and just plain happy are popping up all over the place. However, people miss out on these amazing methods because they simply dont know about them. From safe drugs to happy apps, to high tech brain stimulation devices, a whole new world of ways to feel good is blossoming.
    In this book, Ill take you on a tour of 101 of the best and newest ways to feel fantasticthat most people are unaware of. My friends call me Dr. Feelgood, and often laugh at my latest contrivance for feeling high. Yet, I usually get the last laugh because once theyve tried my latest gadget or supplement, they often ask, So where can I get these? Its my hope that as you read my reviews and experiences, youll be inspired to try some of them on yourself. Im confident that as you give a few a test ride, youll find easy, quick, safe, low cost, and reliable new ways to feel amazing. Wouldnt that be great?
    Ive been a psychotherapist who has been on a forty-year quest to find the best and easiest ways to feel really wonderful. Ive been on Oprah numerous times to talk about some of these shortcuts to joy, and Ive spoken at Google about The Future of Happiness. Despite all the great tools available for tapping the heaven within, Ive seen many people choose ways to feel good that actually devastate their lives. If your method for feeling fantastic requires large amounts of alcohol or heroinyoure going to suffer. If your method of feeling fine involves being rich, youll likely have to work a lot and miss out on much of lifes sweetness. Therefore, its important to explore new ways to feel truly wonderful that are easy to do and have no negative side effects.
    Contrary to many peoples beliefs, feeling fantastic is a worthy thing to pursue. Research shows that happy people live longer than unhappy people. They make $750,000 more over their lifetime than other folks, and are less selfish and more productive. In addition, truly joyous people raise happier kids and have a lower rate of divorce. As you find new ways to feel great, youll likely find that your health improves, and youll become a better partner, parent, and employee as well.
    Whether you want a high tech way to cure your depression or a low-tech way to feel more joy, youll find a way to suit your needs in my reviews of 101 different methods. But before going into my description of these amazing methods and gizmos, in Chapter One Ill describe how to evaluate whats a really good fit for you. In the final section of this book, Ill discuss how to mix and match these various methods, along with how to evaluate if a method is truly your friend. Finally, Ill end with what the amazing future of happiness might look like, and then conclude with some final guidelines and remarks.
    You need not read this book in a linear manner. If you want, find a method or section whose title looks interesting to you, and start reading. Yet, I encourage you to begin by reading the first chapter so you can better know what techniques are most likely to serve your particular needs and desires.
    Inside our own body and brain, we each possess a mostly unexplored territory that contains great riches. Weve heard that the Kingdom of heaven is within, but most of us have not had the right keys to unlock this Kingdom. It is my sincere hope that some of the keys in this book will help you enjoy new and wonderful heights within your own heart, mind, body, and soul

    In this book, I give a description and overview of 101 of the most promising technologies for feeling better or feeling joyful. Technology is defined as the application of tools and methods for achieving a specified result more efficiently. In this case, the result were after is a better way to feel fantasticor at the very leasta good way to overcome feeling bad. Fortunately, all the tools mentioned in this book already exist, yet most of them are not widely known or utilized. In American culture, were bombarded with messages that say that more money or an amazing relationship is the best way to achieve happiness. Having more money or a hot date can indeed feel really good, but they both can take a long time to manifest, and they can often create new problems of their own.
    The search for a new way to feel happiness or deep peace is, in my opinion, a sacred exploration and duty. Once you find a few ways that really work easily and reliably for yourself, your life is never the same. As human beings, we spend countless hours and effort
