Delightful, cool weatheritems, just right for covering up! Fits 18 inch dolls.

Note that most allpatterns are made with Red Heart Super Saver Yarn.

Hooded Poncho for 18-inchDolls

Materials A size 4 yarn worsted weight yarn We used RedHeart Super Saver - photo 1

Materials: A size 4 yarn, worsted weight yarn. We used RedHeart Super Saver, approximately 1 ounces, or about 80 yards. A16 inch circular needle, US size 8, yarn sewing needle, plus 4stitch markers, two of them being the same color to mark sidesleeve area. You may need a set of 4 double pointed needles size8, for working the neck area, until increases are enough to resumeto circular needle. Then use the brightest color marker to indicatebeginning of round.
Gauge: 9sts = 2 inches

Directions: (Note that poncho is started at top of hood, andknitted downward.)

Starting at hood top, caston 44 sts. (Work back and forth in rows until stated.)

Row 1 - Knitacross

Row 2 - K 3, p across,ending k 3.
Repeat these 2 rows until 5 inches from beginning, ending on purlside.

Neck ribbing: Now work in *k 1, p1 * ribbing for 4 rows. (Youcan switch to double pointed needles now if stitches are too few oncircular, as it is now worked in rounds.)

Starting base and bottom ofponcho: Knit 11, place sleeve colormarker, knit 11, place a different color marker, knit 11, placesleeve color marker, knit last 11. Place bright color marker toindicate beginning of next round.

Next round, knittingaround, increase 1 stitch before and after each marker around.(Note that you can work a knit into front and back of stitch forincrease.) Next round, work even, knitting around.
Repeat these last 2 rounds until there are 19 sts by each sleevemarker. Remove sleeve markers as you work around, then working onlywith increases on front and

back this will make apoint in front and back of poncho increase only at - photo 2

Continue this until length from last row of neck ribbing is 4inches in length, (measure down the point of front or back, fromlast row of ribbing worked,) ending on the increase round. (55 stseach side)
Bottom round, on next purl around.
Next round, knit around, continuing with the increases at points.Next round, purl around. Knit next round plain, then next round,bind off in purl stitch.
Weave in yarn ends to wrong side of poncho.
Poncho just slips over head of doll. Hood can be worn up over head,or back down over shoulders.

Materials Size 4 worsted weight yarn approximately 15ounces or about 75 - photo 3

Materials: Size 4 worsted weight yarn, approximately 1.5ounces, or about 75 yds. (We used Vannas Choice yarn, a 3.5 ounceball.) Knitting needles, US #10

Gauge: 4 sts = 1 inch, measure over pattern stitch

Directions: Made in a long piece, then sewn. Wrap is 14 inches long, 5 inches wide before sewing. Starting at one edge,cast on 21 sts.

Row 1 - Kacross.

Row 2 - * K1, p1*repeating across.

Row 3 - K across. Repeatthese 3 rows for pattern, until length from beginning of work is14 inches ending on row 3. Bind off in knit st. Twist the flatpiece and sew cast on and bound off edges together. This forms sortof a figure 8 shape. Just slip over dolls head aroundshoulders.

Materials Worsted weight yarn a size 4 yarn approximately15 ounces or - photo 5

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, a size 4 yarn, approximately1.5 ounces, or about 75 yards. Knitting needles, US #13. Crochethook is helpful pulling short yarn strands through edge to makefringe, if desired.

Gauge: Measured over pattern stitches. 3 sts = 1 inch

Directions: (Note, finished poncho is 11 inches wide and 9inches high.) Beginning at front bottom edge, cast on 32 sts. Workseed stitch for entire poncho.

Seed st is:
Row 1- * K 1, p1* repeating across.

Row 2- * P 1, k1*repeating across. Repeat these 2 rows for pattern, until lengthfrom beginning is about 4 inches.


Shape neck opening: Working inpattern st, work across st for 10 sts, bind off center 12 sts, workremaining sts.

On return row cast on 12sts over bound off sts Resume seed st pattern until - photo 6

Optional fringe: Cut lengths of yarnabout 3 inches long, then pull through each length all along theedges of poncho of front, back and sides. Cut length ends even allthe way around.

Oversized, Open FrontSampler Stitch Poncho

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, (we use Red Heart SuperSaver,) approximately 2 ounces (110 yards, a size 4 yarn), knittingneedles US # 8. NOTE: Green Poncho has a button loop, and a 7/16inch size button. Crochet hook size G needed for buttonloop.

Gauge: Measured over stockinette st is 5 sts = 1 inch

Back piece: NOTE- The dividing rows, or garter stitch bandrow will consist of either 3 rows or 2 rows, depending on thestitch pattern before and after the dividing garter stitchrow.

Cast on 34 sts. K acrossfor 4 rows.

Start pattern stitch #1 (seed stitch):
Row 1 - * k 1, p 1 * across row.
Row 2 - * p 1, k 1 * across. Repeat these 2 rows for a total of 6rows. Then work row 1 once more.

Dividing line: K across 3 rows.
