Praise for Living Agelessly
a how-to guide for surviving lifes pitfalls as we Baby Boomers venture into the vast and uncharted waters of senior citizenship Living Agelessly has helped reinforce my doctors prescriptions for better diet, more exercise and how important a positive outlook can be. Altoonian explores the spiritual connection between good nutrition, exercise and a positive, forward-looking attitude. Its really the ABCs of fearlessly, even eagerly, moving into another phase of our lives filled with time to do the things we never could fit into our work-crammed lives before, including travel, volunteering and grandchildren. Its a book anyone already at or approaching retirement should keep handy on their bookshelves and its a tremendous resource for those who have aging parents.
JIM REEVES, FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM

BARBARA POPE MUSSER, LMFT, LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
a must-have for anyone with aging parents, or who is approaching retirement age themselves or is already retired. Well-organized sections on health & fitness, preparing for retirement, and safety issues make it easy to find information. Some of the chapters I found particularly helpful (Im nearing retirement age) were the ones on travel and volunteering numerous ideas on how to interact with your grandkids in todays world
One of my favorite features about Living Agelessly is its emphasis on mind-body connections. It stresses the importance of a healthy body and positive attitude the resources section at the end of the book provides hundreds of websites and phone numbers of organizations dedicated to working with retirees

Preface
Baby boomers, and their parents, are the fastest growing segments of the population. We are 81 million strong, and have shaped every aspect of American life for decades. We have been the moving force in changing or creating new industries (designer clothes and bottled water). We have exploded existing markets (flavored coffee and computers), and have destroyed others (typewriters and cloth diapers).
Also called the sandwich generation, many baby boomers are raising children at the same time that they are caring for their aging parents, who will live 10 to 15 years on average longer than the generations before them. Baby boomers are racing from day care centers for their kids to nursing centers for their parentsand sometimes their grandparents.
Every year, 4 million baby boomers turn 50, but we refuse to be downsized or ignored. Controlling over 48 percent of all discretionary purchases, baby boomers are the most educated, proactive, and affluent consumer group in North America. We will read, do, and buy whatever it takes to remain as young and healthy as possible, for as long as possible.
Determined to age less and age well, we are taking better care of ourselves, so age 60 looks and feels more like 40. Because we are living longer, we are reinventing ourselves in the workplace, and are far more interested in keeping active than sitting in any rocking chair.
The Me generation is wealthier than our children are likely to be, and we are more likely to use our money to create a golden retirement rather than will it to others. Our attitude about aging is different from any previous generationand attitude dictates how successfully a person will grow older.
Living Agelessly was written for anyone who wants to maximize health and create an independent and successful lifestyle. The suggestions in this book apply to young adults who are concerned about preparing better for the inevitable changes associated with growing older, to the sandwich generation that is juggling the care of children and aging parents, to baby boomers, and to those who are in their early years of retirement.
