How we met
Kate says:I think us meeting was written in the stars! We began to talk privately and realised we had kids the same age, our birthdays are two days apart, and we had even lived on the next road to each other in Brighton for a couple of years without knowing it, and had most likely drunk in the same pubs! The rest, as they say, is history. Mandy is my Sober BFF and the sister I never had. She is an amazing girls girl, is generous and supportive and loves to bring people together as well as having a fierce integrity to everything she does. Together, we make Team Love Sober!
Mandy says:We met in 2017, on the online sober forum, soberistas. com. Kate set up a Christmas group to help each other get through the challenging festive time. This small group began to share more intimately about life, family, and the challenges we face. Kate wrote about seeing Kate Tempest in Brighton and posted a picture of herself wearing a sparkly bobble hat and it was love! I shared with her that I wanted to do a podcast on sobriety, and Kate, having the spirit of a coach who can transform dreams into action, helped me have the confidence to do, and not just think about, this. So, we began planning the podcast, and she shared her book idea with me, and we decided to become business partners and work long term on Love Sober. I cant imagine life without our partnership and friendship.

An amazingly helpful, refreshing and positive book... I wish this book had been around when I kicked the booze, it would have been a lifesaver.
Lucy Rocca, Soberistas
Finally, someone is telling it like it is. There is deep denial in the UK about the reality of our relationship with alcohol. In this clearly written and wonderful book, Kate and Mandy shine a light on the reality of our drinking versus the fantasy. The truth is, the fantasy doesnt hold up. If you are at that point of realising that alcohol is not delivering on its promises, then you will find this book a helpful aid in making those first steps into sobriety. Mandy and Kate are great guides through this process, offering experience, wisdom, and constructive suggestions to make that journey as smooth as possible. Hopefully, this book will find its way into the hands of every mum struggling with alcohol.
Veronica Valli, psychotherapist and creator of the Soberful program
Love Yourself Sober is far more than just a book on quitting drinking, its a guidebook to making the absolute best of one of lifes toughest transitions; from the freedom and opportunity of early adulthood, into parenthood and beyond. I wish Id read it ten years ago.
William Porter, author of Alcohol Explained
