About the Author
Founded in 1969 by Margaret Miles-Bramwell, who remains its managing director, Slimming World is the UKs largest and most advanced slimming organisation. It currently manages thousands of classes across the country with over 250,000 members attending every months and another 15,000 attending free as succesful Target members. Dear Reader,
I havent met you, yet I want to thank you personally for two things: for deciding this book can help you slim effectively and for taking a moment or two with me.
I believe that this book will be of lifelong value to you. Actually, you are enormously valuable to me. Every day of my life for the past forty years, I have woken up and begun a days conversation with you you, the everyday slimmer, the woman or man in the street who, like me, lives a life thats pushed towards weight and longs for a body thats never put on an extra ounce. When I was young, it was you who gave me hope, for I realised I wasnt alone in my struggle. Since 1969 my personal life goal has been to forge a path forward for anybody caught up in the diet trap and the misery of excess weight.
There isnt a slimming dilemma that I havent experienced. There isnt a day I dont wish for a magic bullet because Im an everyday slimmer, because Ive struggled with overweight, because I feel nobody should go through such struggles alone.
