Introduction
I cant think of a faster way to shift a quilter into high gear than to announce a baby on the way. If you feel the same, then heres a whole collection of cute and cuddly projects to keep you busy until the arrival of the little bundle of joy in your life.
In 2000, I put together my first book of baby quilts for C&T Publishing, Special Delivery Quilts. I still come across quilts from that book hanging as samples in quilt shops, and quilters are always telling me about their personal favorites that theyve made from the book for the babies in their own families or circles of friends. Jessica Jones, who brought her quilting talents to the quilts in this book, told me that shes quilted so many of the cover quilt from the original book for her customers that shes lost count! It always makes me happy to hear how much you enjoy and make use of my designs.
I had another great time designing the projects for this sequel and even more fun creating the finished pieces during get-togethers with my quilting friends. I hope you like Special Delivery Quilts #2 too, and that this becomes the book you turn to each time you get word that a stork is on its way with a special delivery.
As tempting as it may be to jump right into your project, read the instructions thoroughly before you begin working.
All pieces for the projects in this book are sewn using a -wide seam allowance and are stitched with the fabrics placed right sides together. Projects are appliqud using a fusible method (), and the raw edges are finished with a machine satin stitch, zigzag stitch, or blanket stitch.
Tools and Supplies
Make sure you have all the necessary tools on hand before you start cutting and stitching up a storm.
