Authors Foreword

My main goal is to encourage, inspire, equip and challenge you as to how you can make your familys diet look the way you believe it should be, without compromising due to budgetary constraints. Real Food on a Real Budget

I have never been so keen to the practice of budgeting my money or funds when I do my grocery. Why? Well, because I have lived with my parents for most of my pre-adult life. Growing up, my parents would give me any food I want, whenever I want. And while I may not have grown up with weight issues, I am certain that I am what most people painfully call skinny fat.

Yes, I didnt struggle with my weight, but it also meant that I am unhealthy because while I didnt gain all the weight from the unhealthy food that I have been eating, I have started to suffer from high cholesterol and blood sugar levels! Insane and unbelievable as it may sound, but yes, I am skinny outside while being a fat kid inside.

It was only when I left home to live and work in the city when I realized that making great and healthy food is necessary to survive all the stress and pressure of being an adult. And for someone who is a lazy cook and a poor meal and budget planner, I immediately concluded that my quest to live a healthy and budget-friendly life is will never happen.

Impossible to achieve? Boy, was I wrong! 2 years ago, my mother bought me a small air fryer as a holiday gift. And initially, I thought, you have got to be kidding me? Why would she give me a kitchen appliance that does nothing but frying? Well, again, I was made to face the truth that an air fryer is more than just your regular fryer! It cooks with no or very little amount of oil; it can bake, broil, toast, roast and grill too! And when I started using it, I have also realized that I have been eating healthier and saving money at the same time. My what used to be $175 weekly budget on food, went down to $30! This is the reason why this book was written. Air Fryer Minimalist Cooking: 40 Good and Cheap, Mostly Low-Carb, Delicious Everyday Air Fryer Recipes for Less than $30 a Week was thoughtfully written and developed to:

  • Help readers and home cooks to realize that great food doesnt have to be deep fried all the time.
  • Make people understand that healthy and delicious food can be inexpensive too.
  • Discover tasty, hearty and healthy recipes one can make using an air fryer. The recipes will feature nutritional information as well.
  • Learn tips and tricks one can use to make the recipes or dishes featured here.
  • And so much more.

I hope that the contents of this book will inspire you as much as they have helped me become healthier, happier and more inspired to eat and cook clean on a budget.
