With a busy lifestyle, its easy to rely on eating out more than spending the time to cook at home. To help with these two goals, Ive written this book on following the keto diet while using an air fryer.

    An air fryer is a quick, modern approach to frying food. Its much healthier, while also giving you crispy, deliciously baked food. It doesnt actually fry the food, but instead bakes it with a convection-oven like mechanism. Theres a bit of oil in it, but if you choose healthy oils, youll have a healthy alternative to those deep-fried wings and burgers we all love so much. Air fryers are also an easy way to prepare meals for your family, since most air fryer meals dont take much time to make. Keto, on the other hand, is a style of diet.

    It was originally created to help people with diabetes and other similar health concerns. However, it can be of great use for anyone, regardless of your weight. Keto diet is a low-carbohydrate diet. This means that keto emphasizes healthy fats and proteins, and places less emphasis on carbohydrates. Most of us consume too many grams of carbohydrates, which can negatively affect our health. Keto is the solution to that.

    If you want to eat healthier, lose weight, and reduce your likelihood of getting heart disease, diabetes, or others, then keto is the way to go. This book combines the wonderful health benefits of keto with the ease of an air fryer. Were going to discuss many keto-friendly recipes that you can make in an air fryer.     S o youre looking for an air fryer. This chapter, and the next one will cover all the basics of an air fryer and what to look for when you purchase one. If youve already purchased one, then youre ahead of the game, but if you havent yet, then this chapter is for you.

    In this chapter, were going to discuss some of the basics of an air fryer (like, what is it?) and some of the benefits and drawbacks of the air fryer. Well also cover everything you can do with with the air fryer.

    What is an Air Fryer?
    A n air fryer is very different from a deep fryer If youve seen or owned a - photo 9 A n air fryer is very different from a deep fryer. If youve seen or owned a deep fryer, then you know its an appliance that uses a massive amount of oil. In a deep fryer, you can use a quart or more of oil in order to fry some food. Its a lot, and its also very very unhealthy.

    In comparison, an air fryer is nothing like a deep fryer, except that it also uses oil. However, it uses about 1 tablespoon of oil in comparison to 1 quart of oil in a deep fryer. An air fryer is actually more closely related to a convection oven. A convection oven, and an air fryer, use a heating element with powerful blasts of air to circulate heat around the container. They both have set temperatures based on degrees, and they can both be easily used to cook through most things. The difference with the air fryer is that its smaller than most convection ovens and thus heats up way quicker and maintains that heat well.

    The hot air circulating around the air fryer results in a fry like quality in the food you make. They become crispy on the outside, while still being soft/smooth on the inside. So you get the enjoyable aspects of the deep fryer but without all of the negative aspects of it. Its a win-win machine.

    What are the Strengths and Weaknesses of an Air Fryer?
    T here are a lot of strengths and weaknesses, so lets quickly go through them. Strengths: Quick preparation.

    The air fryer heats up so quickly, that you can easily make a meal in 20 minutes or less, and thats including prep time. Healthyish. This really depends on what youre cooking, but air fryers use such a small amount of oil that its generally healthier than pan-frying or deep-frying. You can use it for nearly everything. Because its essentially an oven, you can use an air fryer for most things an oven can be used for (to some extent). Its more than just frying.
