We hope it is at least a little of both. We pulled together this collection of smoothie recipes with you in mind. Yes, you. Whether you want to lose weight, maintain your current weight or gain weight, theres a smoothie for everyone. Most of our smoothies are designed to help you lose weight, but if you want to gain you can still use our recipes. Youll just have to substitute full fat ingredients for low-fat ingredients.
Or add protein powder. The point is, it is never a bad idea to put healthy things in your body. It is never a bad idea to get your full servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Smoothies help you do that, and more. But more on that in a minute. Skinny Smoothies is not just your typical diet book.
Were not recommending a radical program that includes deprivation and starvation. Were not advising you to drink only smoothies. Were recommending a lifestyle change that you can stick with for the rest of your life. Were advising you to change the way you look at food, but instead of just telling you to eat to live were showing you how without sacrificing taste. The lifestyle change is not only about smoothies. Its important to understand the health benefits of certain ingredients so you know (1) that youre doing something good for yourself and (2) where to fill in nutrient-wise for the rest of your day. Thats what the detox chapter is forto give you some tips on how to figure out what your daily nutrient intake should be and how to fill in the gaps on a normal week. Ultimately, there is a recipe in this book for almost every nutrient need. The nutritional information is provided to help you choose a smoothie based on what your body needs today. The recipes are just one part of your health journey. It is important to know what your body requires so that you can choose the correct smoothies to supplement your diet.
Even if youre not dieting, we have smoothies to give you a burst of energy, smoothies to boost your potassium, and more. Thats the beauty of this book that bears repeating: these smoothies are great if you want to lose weight or purge toxins from your body.
