The iPad is one of the most exciting recent developments in stop motion movies. Now everyone can participate, and with this book youll soon be making animation movies like a professional.
Just follow the steps and in a few hours you will have created an original story and a superb stop motion, all made 100% on your iPad.

The www.ipadanimation.net website also has examples of stop motion movies made on the iPad, so you might want to get inspired before you start. YouTube also has many stop motion movies. Even if they werent made on an iPad, youll be able to get ideas about how to improve your movies.
In this section we'll use GarageBand to record the soundtrack. Dont worry about the actual story at the moment because were going to show you a great way to create an original story. If your story is already written well tell you when you can skip that step.
Open the GarageBand app.
The first screen is called My Songs.
To start a new soundtrack tap the Plus button in the top left, then tap Create New Song.
Swipe one finger left or right through the instruments until you come to the Audio Recorder.
We will use the Audio Recorder to record dialogue with the iPad microphone.
Tap the Audio Recorder.
Before you start recording with the microphone there are three settings to change.
Tap the Metronome button in the top right to turn it OFF - it should not be blue.
Next, tap the Settings button in the top right.
Turn OFF the count in.
Tap the Settings button again to close this panel.
Lastly, tap the Sections button in the top right.
Tap on the number next to Section A (usually 8 bars) and turn ON Automatic section length.

The microphone is a small slot on the edge of the iPad. On most iPads it is near the front camera at the opposite end to the home button. On some recent iPads, the microphone is next to the rear camera.
