Introduction
Centuries before the introduction of sugar people in Japan were making - photo 2 Centuries before the introduction of sugar, people in Japan were making desserts. The traditional Japanese desserts relied on locally available ingredients such as sweet beans, rice, flower nectar, and sweet plant sap. When sugar arrived in Japan in the 1860s, people in the country developed a liking for the new ingredients and started making new desserts that were based on the western cuisines. The introduction of new desserts created a boom for the western style sweets and intensified the love for Japanese deserts. Today, Japanese desserts are very popular, and the Japanese people claim to have a second stomach, just for the desserts. Typically, Japanese desserts use less amount of sugar compared to their western counterparts.

This means the desserts are healthy and are ideally perfect for both adults and kids. Lets find out the most popular Japanese desserts.

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Cup bread flour
  • 1 tbsp matcha
  • 4 eggs

In a small mixing bowl, milk and honey. Sift the bread flour and matcha together several times. Set aside. 3. Use a hand mixer to whisk eggs then add sugar as you whisk in a small bowl. 4.

Place the small bowl in warm water, probably in a large bowl. Whisk the egg further until almost white. 5. Preheat oven to 360F. 6. 7. 7.

Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and gently mix with a spatula. 8. Pour the well-mixed batter into the lined loaf pan then tap the pan to release bubbles. 9. Bake in the oven for ten Minutes at 360F then lower to 300F and bake for forty more Minutes. 10.

Check if the cake is cooked by poking it with a skewer (bamboo). If the bamboo skewer comes out clean, you good to go. 11. Flip down the pan to release the cake on a platter. Remove the parchment paper and let the cake cool wrapped in a plastic wrap. 12.

Combine gelatin and a quarter cup of water in a small mixing bowl. Mix well and set aside. 2. Combine all the crust Ingredients in a separate bowl then spread the mixture in a round cake pan. 3. Use a spoon to press the crumbs so that you create a solid crust.

Place the crust in the refrigerator. 4. In a small mixing bowl mix green tea powder and warm water. Let the powder fully dissolve, then set aside. 5. In a separate bowl mix cream cheese and white sugar until smooth.

Add yogurt and heavy cream to the cream cheese mixture. 6. Add the green tea to the cream cheese mixture. The mixture should be light green in color. 7. Heat the already solidified gelatin mixture in the microwave until it melts.

Add to the cheese mixture. 8. Now pour the cheese filling to the crust and spread it evenly. 9. Refrigerate for six hours. Serve and enjoy.
