ACKNOWLEDGMENTSThanks to My husband, Terry, who has been so encouraging and a blessing to me. My five children, who have been so supportive of me; they are my pride and joy.
My sisters and my mother, who continue to inspire me and challenge me, not only in my quilting arena but also in life in general. My extended family as well; my aunts and first cousins who wrote Life Lessons for me. Reuben Rhodes and Nathan Rittenhouse, who helped figure out my math charts in diamond sizes; your brains are amazing. All the quilters in my classes, for sharing their love and joy of quilting with me. The generosity of these fabric companies: P&B Textiles, Robert Kaufman, and Michael Miller Fabrics. LIFE LESSONS Throughout the book, youll notice Lessons from the Pastlessons from six aunts and three cousins on my fathers side of the family. LIFE LESSONS Throughout the book, youll notice Lessons from the Pastlessons from six aunts and three cousins on my fathers side of the family.
When my fathers mother was 38, she got the mumps and as a result became completely deaf. She lived 64 years after this incident. She was not one to complain or pity herself for this inconvenience but believed God would give her the strength she needed to handle lifes circumstances. She and Grandfather had two more children after she lost her hearing. They believed that you needed to teach your children responsibility, diligence, self-control, respect, honesty, and many other qualities of character as you raised your family. These are some of the lessons learned and written about by my aunts and cousins.
I hope you both enjoy and glean from these lessons.
