Who Am I?
Who am I, and what are my qualifications?
First, I am a power user and enthusiast. I have ownedand used nearly 10 different Android devices since Android first hit the marketin 2008 on the T-Mobile G1. I have pushed each one to its limits, both in stockand rooted configurations, and I have taught countless others to do the same.In the decade before Android hit the market, I used numerous Windows Mobile andPalm OS phones and PDAs. In fact, I got my first one in 2002. I have writtenfor several enthusiast websites, including one popular one that I started, owned, and ran in the early 2000s. This aint my first rodeo.
I am also the author of Samsung Galaxy Note 3: The100% Unofficial User Guide, a bestselling and well-reviewed guide to theNote 3. Check it out on Amazon:

Chapter 2: About the Galaxy S5
Design & Features
Today, Samsung is a huge name in the smartphone world. As of February 2014, it had 27% market share according to the market researchfirm comScore, second only to Apple (41.3%) and well ahead of third-place LG(6.8%). But it wasnt always this way. In fact, it wasnt until 2010 when Samsungreleased the Galaxy S series that it achieved real success in the smartphonemarket. Every year since then, Samsung has packed its best technology into onephone and released it as a new Galaxy S. In particular, the Galaxy S2 isconsidered to have set a new standard for design and performance of Androidphones, catapulting Samsung to the top and paving the way for hundreds ofmillions of future Galaxy S sales. In this way, the Galaxy S5 is the latest entryin historys most successful line of Android phones. Its kind of a big deal.
In my opinion, the Galaxy S5 is more fresh and excitingthan the S3 or S4 that many of you are upgrading from. Why? Samsung tried todistinguish the S3 and S4 by packing in as many features as possible, such aseye movement tracking, hand waving gestures, pedometers, and more. Whileinteresting, those features gave the S3 and S4 a gimmicky feel. With the GalaxyS5, Samsung has gone back to basics. It has chosen a few areas in which to makethe Galaxy S5 excel and really focused on them, leaving out the gimmicks. Letstalk about what separates the Galaxy S5 from the rest of the Android pack.
