About the authors
Professor Keith Brownholds academic and professional qualifications in social work, nursing, teaching and management. He has worked in the education and training field for over 25 years, in both universities and local authorities, and is currently Director of the National Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work and Professional Practice and Director of the Institute of Health and Social Care Integration at Bournemouth University.Richard Fieldis a Visiting Fellow of Bournemouth University working within the National Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work and Professional Practice. Richard, who is a very experienced leadership development specialist and event facilitator, is a qualified Executive Coach, licensed user of a range of psychometric instruments and author. Previous experience includes working as a local authority accountant, university programme manager, company director and charity trustee. For many years Richard helped design and deliver the national Commissioning Academy.Karen Grimshawis an independent Nurse Consultant for older people, with over 30 years experience in healthcare of elderly services, having worked across a range of health and social care organisations in community, hospital and care home settings. She has held several senior nursing roles as executive and non-executive director including NHS Board Nurse positions for a community and mental health provider, an acute hospital and a primary care and commissioning organisation. Karen is a Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse Teacher; she is currently a Visiting Fellow of Bournemouth University, working with the National Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work and Professional Practice.Jane Holroydis director of Jane Holroyd Consultancy, an organisation specialising in leadership development in the public sector. Jane is a Visiting Fellow of Bournemouth University and has over 25 years experience working in senior leadership roles within the NHS, in both acute and primary care sectors. She has a proven track record in complex change management and service redesign. Jane is passionate about the development of leadership through the development of individuals with programmes that are based in the reality of the public sector and that focus on making a real difference to front-line services. To this end she has developed and delivered a Self-leadership: Building Personal Resilience and Relationships that Work within the Health and Social Care programme at Masters Level. Jane is a trained executive coach and is currently contracted with Macmillan Cancer Services. She is also a Henley Business School prizewinner.Clive Milleris an independent consultant and a skilled event facilitator providing strategic planning and organisational development support. Clive is currently working on the in-depth development of asset-based commissioning and practice within adult and childrens services and, more broadly, across all parts of the public sector. He previously worked as an operational research scientist, a strategic land use planner, a senior lecturer and management consultant at the National Institute for Social Work, an interim local authority assistant director of finance and the Principal (Social Care) at the Office for Public Management.Emily Rosenorn-Lanngis a researcher at the National Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work and Professional Practice, Bournemouth University. She has worked in Social Research for over ten years, undertaking projects throughout the health, social care, tourism and heritage sectors, specialising in bespoke research methodologies, data handling and analysis. Emily provides research consultancy to national partners and has supported practitioners across the health and social care sector to undertake Service Improvement Projects.Sue Rossis currently a social work consultant and a Visiting Fellow of Bournemouth University. She is a registered social worker with over 40 years experience in adult and childrens services in the NHS and local authorities and has held director and chief executive roles in Scotland, Wales and England. She is a trustee of a national voluntary organisation providing services for people with learning disabilities and Independent Chair of South Tynesides Adult Safeguarding Board. In addition she has authored and chaired a number of serious case reviews and service reviews and is a qualified and experienced coach and mentor with the Institute of Leadership and Management.
