I n the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, New York City police officers enter the Stonewall Inn, a well-known gay bar in the citys Greenwich Village neighborhood. They begin to arrest employees for selling liquor without a license and customers for wearing clothing deemed inappropriate for their gender.
